Everybody ask yourself one question, how we'll would it go over if someone decided to start a NFL team in say Alabama and wanted call them the Alabama blackskins,
They could dress mascot up in overalls and call him Jim or Toby .

I think it's laughable that it was never an issue till now. I've never once heard, or read, that it is a derogatory name until now. I hope Snyder keeps it.

in all honesty i am 30 years old.. and up until i was probably 18-20 i thought redskins were pigs.. i thought their mascot was a freaking pig

No one is "native" to the Americas.
Calling them "Native Americans" is as dumb as calling them "Redskins" is offensive, and should offend anyone who was born on this continent.
"People who got here first" is accurate, but too long.
