I've walked over 10 miles in one day before.

Not all at once, but i covered 12 miles at Disney world last year. I have a little pedometer from work for this rewards program we have. Over 21k steps that day and when I plugged it in to upload them it told me 12 miles that day.
And we walked all over Manhattan and Central Park a few years ago on our anniversary. I have no idea how far but our feet were killing us so much that we found a shoe store to get some running shoes. That was the last trip that I cared about taking casual shoes on. All trips since then I've worn running shoes when doing touristy things.
And that reminds me. A few years before that NYC trip we went to Hawaii. Decided to hike up diamond head crater with a group from the resort. They were telling us to pack extra water. That it was supposed to be really hot that day. The high was 80. We laughed at them. They know nothing (Jon Snow) about the heat in Alabama in the summer.

My son(4 at the time) got a blister at the start of the hike and I had to carry him up. Those stairs at the end were killer.

Depends on what scenario we're talking about
Hiking trip we did 10+ mile days
Mardi Gras walking from Bourbon to the Boot, which is only like 5 miles or so

I had to walk 5 miles drunk down State Street in Jackson, Miss., after the St. Paddy's Day parade and partying all night at Hal & Mal's in order to make it home since the douchebags I was with left me downtown. Had my head on a swivel for that trip.

March To The Brazos with the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets. Did it 3.5 times in college.

March to the Brazos is the largest and most successful student-led fundraiser for the March of Dimes in the United States, and raised over $1.5 million between 1977 and 2007.

In the spring semester, the cadets conduct a 18 miles (30 km) round-trip road march starting from their dorms in the Quadrangle, through Main Campus and West Campus to Texas A&M's Animal Science Teaching, Research & Extension Complex (ASTREC) near the east bank of the Brazos River.

My truck broke down halfway between Osyka and Magnolia Mississippi. It was long before the days of cell phones, so I laced up my work boots and hiked down to Osyka--however far that was. Maybe 5 miles or so. I was working my high school job at the time, so I took my time walking and earning my $4.25 / hour--cash--the whole way. It cost me $10 to pay a guy to drive me back and jump start my truck--which I billed back to my employer. It was a relaxing, profitable, and enjoyable afternoon stroll. Other than that, I hiked damn near around the whole city of Toronto a few years back--smoking Cohibas and enjoying the scenery. Took in a few innings of Blue Jays baseball along the way.

I walked from Frenchman to Audubon Park once. Bad times.
