I lived in Dallas one Summer while doing graduate studies and had to walk home from the movie because the bus was no longer running that late. It was over 5 miles.

I walked 7.5 miles down a beach in Destin once while drunk. That fricking sucked to walk back, so I guess it was 15 miles total over the course of the day.

I walked 500 miles before I walked 500 more just to be the man who walked a 1000 miles and fell right in your mom's vagina.

I once walked a mile in another man's shoes. I learned a lot.

Mainly that he has little feet.

Summit day on Kilimanjaro started at 16,000 feet. 8 hours later we reached the summit at over 19,000. 10 hours after that we were done for the day back down at 10,000 feet. With packs.

So 18 hours on the trail with 12K feet elevation change.

I once walked halfway into a forest.

Then I walked halfway out of it.

I was then a quarter of the way into it by my reckoning.

I walked from the jail in Council Bluffs, Iowa back to the Harrah's where my car was at 8am hungover like never before. Those jerkoff cops wouldn't call me a cab or let me use the phone (I think as a lesson since they didn't book me officially). It was probably 10 miles but felt like a lot more than that.
