I was drunk at a RR crossing, thought it was a good idea to piss on the train as it passed, got side swiped by a tanker ladder. Good times

OT combat veterans are about to come in here and end this thread..

Don't know why vets would ruin the thread?

Anyway, mine was actually not combat related but on a training sortie at Minot AFB, ND. Not going to get into all of the B-52 specific aspects of why this occurred, but the co-pilot doing the takeoff didn't apply proper procedures for taking off with large amounts of right crosswind. Right as the jet was leaving the ground, the jet started to immediately roll to the right and the Supervisor of Flying (SOF) in the control tower eventually told us that our right wingtip was only about a foot from the ground at one point. Had we lost that one foot of altitude, the wing would have caught the ground and resulted in the jet beginning to cartwheel down the remaining runway. Since I was an instructor on the sortie, I was in a non-ejection seat so I would have had no means of getting out of the airplane in that case. If the impact alone wouldn't have killed me, the 29,000 gallons of jet fuel exploding would have surely done the job.

Fell off a 50 ft cliff into white water rapids when I was a kid. Thankfully there was a raft group 100 yards up that roped me in.

To this day have somewhat a fear of heights.

Almost drowned in a reservoir in WV when I was about five, (it prolly was a shite pond). I was under and my sister scooped me out. She regrets it now, morenlikely.

Later, as an adult when I was poor, I was driving a little Mitsubishi Mirage when a guy, suicidal in a beater flys up an exit ramp the wrong way, just misses me and faces up to a full-sized Ford Pickup on SB I-110 in Biloxi, kills himself way dead and the three unluckies in the Ford. Not a seatbelt on any of them. Slow motion, I can still see his face as he passed me.

Whenever I read these threads I feel like a piano is going to fall out of the sky and crush me the minute I leave my front door.

No. And there is much more. Normal stuff though. Car wrecks, plant explosion and lesser situations there, 13 fractures in my ribs and a broken collar bone in another MC accident, broken collarbone and back in a horse accident when I was a kid. Life has been good to me.

Dumb bitch pulled out in front of me in a F-150 on Hwy 49 while I was going 65 in my Jeep. T-boned her truck and the impact sent me across southbound traffic, lucky the next line of cars hadn't made it to that spot yet or I woulda been superfricked. Came to rest against a telephone pole, had to kick my door open to get out. Once I set foot on the ground, I face planted because my ankle was rolled from the gas pedal being jammed back into my foot during the wreck. Still remember every detail of the wreck in slow motion.

Sinister, glad you survived the overdose. I work in the ER and heroin od's usely are fatal. The Michael Jackson drug is propofol and yes it is very common especially if a patient is intibated.
When I was 4, I was playing with my cousin at my grandparents pool and fell in on the deep end, 10' deep. My grandpa runs outside and pulls me up. I was under for atleast 30 seconds. I remember it like it was yesterday.

When I was 18, driving to SLU from mandeville and I fell asleep at the wheel. Had a 7am class to make. Hit the I-10 hammond airport exit sign and slid down the side of the overpass going 70. I was sliding down and never flipped and just crashed into bushes and small trees. I was more scared that my dad would kick my arse than being injured. Just had a few cuts and bruises.

Accidentally took a large African American man's chicken nuggets at McDonald's a couple years back. He shoulder bumped me and gave me a cold stare while I was walking out.

Just that they'll top anything most anybody else would have.

ETA: it was meant respectfully.

Been in many big car accidents, shot and stabbed, struck by lightning but never more close then when I got caught in an undertow in the ocean. I gave up on life that day and let myself sink to the bottom but something inside fought involuntarily for me.
