what is the best way to remove grout

How much do you have to remove? They make a grout removing hand tool that sells for $10 at Lowes. It's just a fancy scraping tool with a couple of edges to choose from.

If you have a lot to remove, they make a soft grout removal wire wheel for an angle grinder.

Not sure exactly what your situation is, but the best thing I have found for removing grout is a dremmel tool...

Prepare for a hell of mess amd be sure to get safety glasses and dust masks

also, be extremely careful that you don't frick anything up but the grout....

This x1000. They make a grout removal blade as well. Did my entire walk in shower not long ago.

Ocillating tools work well for this, and yes it's very dusty but usually not too tough. Grout's not as hard as you would think.

Yep oscillating tool - they make a special blade attachment for this.
