Generally yes

The standard to be considered accurate is +/-20 seconds per day. On a Swiss movement, the Liminox (if all Swiss and certified Swiss) the standard is +/-5 seconds per day. Also durability wise Luminox is a solid metal movement without a spacer. With Timex they use two different all plastic movements in every piece. Then they use spacers to support the movement which causes additional friction and makes it movement vulnerable to shock, drops and maintance.

I know you where being a smart arse but I figured I would also help educate.

I've had 3 Timex Ironman watches over that past 15 years, they've never caused me to be late and have always been reliable watches. I also have an iPhone which is always accurate as well.

What is so special about Luminox watches?

Luminox watches offer a constant glow for up to 25 years, even in total darkness. Each Luminox watch employs tiny self-powered micro gas light tubes. These micro gas lights (borosilicate glass capsules) are installed in the hands, hour markers o the dial, and where applicable, into the bezels of our watches.

Mondaine owns Luminox. Check those out - have a very European look; they appeal to a few people.

I love mine. I have had it for 10+ years and although I don't abuse it, I don't baby it either. Best watch I own.

Gotta love Luminox's gimmick of the Navy Seal connection... which is a fallacy.

Not quite, there are some Team guys that wear them, or at least they used too. Lots of SEALS wear Rescos.

Is anyone suggesting they are special? I purchased the basic one around 10 years ago at a sporting goods store for $150. It's a great beater watch.

Maybe there is a new trend, but most of Seals I know /knew wore G-shocks, and they old school square face models.

Tritium was more popular in vintage watches. I have a new old stock watch that supposedly used tritium, but the lume is very faded. Luminova and Super Luminova is much more popular for most watches nowadays and pretty much the assumed default. As far as I know it is supposed to have brighter lume, but it needs to be recharged in light. I might have some of my details a little mixed up.

So you didn't really want an answer to your question. You were just trying to be a smartass and it backfired.

My question was answered. I added a comment to the discussion that was separate from my question.
