I have 2 that are 15-years old +. They've served me flawlessly. Changed batteries once in both.

I've heard there are reliability issues with some of the newer models.

Seems like a lot of the newer ones are having problems. I bought mine in 06 and it was a great watch until last year the crown came off and the face filled with saltwater and completely rusted.

The Resco owner is a Team guy and I am sure gives some away, although they aren't cheap to buy. Good watch and durable as frick.

That makes sense if so.

Not quite, there are some Team guys that wear them, or at least they used too. Lots of SEALS wear Rescos.

Just FYI, most SEALS wear G-shock. It's everything they need. Reverse LED display, backlight, multiple time zones and durable as frick.

I have one that's my daily watch and it's nothing special IMO. Nothing negative to say either, it keeps time like most.

No other watch is the world does this.

Except other watches that use Tritium tubes like Ball Watch.

I thought Suunto was the brand of choice for Special Operators. I have seen Gshocks also.

Every watch enthusiast needs at least 1 Gshock in the group.

I have a WWII watch band (1943) that needs a time piece. What could I slap on that bad boy for $100 or less?

It looks like this:

ETA - It's around 5/8" wide

Yeah I probably wouldn't wear a $2,000 watch on an op either but R.E. Smith, the founder of RESCO, is an active duty SEAL and are put together in Coronado, so there is that.

You need an old vintage military watch to go on. Something like this:

Let me tell you how it works. He contacted some manufacturers in China, provided them Cad drawings of the dial, then he picked his case out from a book of available cases. Voila, you have a fancy pants Navy SEAL watch. There may be some assembly that happens in Coronado but I can guarantee you these are Chinese made cases. Not that there is anything wrong with that but it's still a $800 watch for $2200 if you ask me. What I believe is happening is that they source the case and dials from overseas, they buy the ETA movements from Switzerland and they put them together in Coronado.

Shite man, you are a watch guru. However, I really give zero fricks how it works. All I know is that there are a bunch of Team guys that wear RESCOs, despite the cases being made in China or wherever. They wear them because one of their own makes them and they are generally good watches that take abuse.
