A word carelessly thrown about as if it means the same thing to everyone, but does it? There’s agape love, puppy love, and so called “real love”, and then there’s lust, infatuation and obsession often posing as love, but again, one can say they love someone and it mean different things to different people.

Is love something you catch like a cold that you can eventually get rid of, or is it more like a construction project where it’s more of a conscious decision to love like building something from the ground up?

If it’s more like a cold you get, then what steps must you take to ensure that you don’t get over it?

Humans. I’m dealing with humans, and they confuse me.

Ideally, I think it's both. As far as romantic love goes, you have that early, head over heels affection for your SO, but if you stay together it morphs into something more foundational & requires work, energy, & effort to maintain.

Read Jesus. Seriously.

Ultimately it’s sacrificial.

yeah but saying it's sacrificial is vague. All love probably involves self sacrifice. hmmm that might fly in the face of me first capitalism.

I think love in general flies in the face of me first anything, but I think that’s what it has become for many in loving people simply for what they get out of it personally, and if that’s all it boils down to, then you’re never more than an unexpected financial, health, or insert difficulty here circumstance away from falling out of “love”. Pretty fragile stuff for many I would say.

I know exactly what it is...

Laying down your life for someone, taking the journey with them, putting their needs before your own; becoming one.

That's what love is.

To me, this is true love.

I've waited all my life to hear something so deeply intense.
