Why do we have to have an instagram account and facebook account? You can post pictures and videos to Facebook.

Because 50-65 year old women have taken over Facebook. Same formula for each one. "First Maiden Last" name, shares jokes and stories that didn't really happen and says "share with everyone!" at the bottom, and post images that say shite like "I love my dog"

BC Insta came along much later
hence, townies from home, kids from HS, people I lost touch with from college, etc. are not contacts on IG
So I get a much more streamlined feed and don't have to look at "I am so tired, it's so tough being a mom! OMG haha tee hee" posts all fricking day.

I use it to post photos and follow other photographers. I don't follow anyone who post tons of selfies or memes.
