Then Edmunds is a bunch of idiots. The guy two posts above that probably hasn't ever towed anything with his Tahoe notices it.

So the people who test these vehicles for a living and, get this, have actually driven and towed with the 8 speed trucks are idiots and don't know what they are talking about...but you, who has never been behind the wheel of one unloaded, or loaded, is 100% correct?

That's just asinine and you know it. What you say compared to what they say has 0 merit solely because you haven't driven the vehicle.

These guys also seemed to have no issue with the new trans while towing 8000lbs uphill at WOT. LINK

Seeing a theme now? Or are they idiots too?

Eta: The link I posted above is one of the better halfton comparisons I've seen. If you search the site, they've done the same test for the Tundra, 5.3 Silverado, 6.2 Silverado, Ecoboost F150, and Nissan Titan. Same load, same route....good stuff if you have time to watch.

The thing is....I have. Hell, I drove a 5.3 and a 6.2 just last week. I have driven probably 15 unloaded and 5 loaded with >5000lbs. I still hate them. That is just on relatively flat ground with some rolling hills. They just suck

Every single person I have spoken with says they do not like the new 6L80E. EVERY SINGLE PERSON. Let me reiterate, EVERY SINGLE PERSON. If you don't understand how a transmission works, that's okay

And the throttle body that will leave you stranded on the side of the road. And the broken window regulators. And the TPMS sensors that refuse to get relearned and a trip to the dealership is warranted.

Want me to go on?

never had any of these issues. 2010 Sierra, 60k mi. count me as a +1 Sierra.

if i had the time, i could go to the ford recall site and start listing too.

To be fair, his price was otd and he was kind enough to help the dealer out by buying an extended warranty AND a service plan

The Ford entertainment center is superior to Toyota. I think Tundras look nice but don't have a comfortable feel when you're driving them. I like more of a command center when I'm driving like the Ford.

don't understand what makes the Tundra some ultimate truck?

It sounds like you need a car. I personally purchase trucks for the purpose of using it for work and pulling

All the bells and whistles add up to unwanted problems and that is something that I don't deal with

The tundra I have and everyone I know with one have had zero issues and they are rock solid.

As far as"nice" interiors you can get just as nice tundra as any other truck made. Check out the limited and tell me it looks plain.

Comparison between the overall build quality of the exterior and drive train of 1/2 trucks, none are built as heavy duty as the tundra in my opinion

That all said, everyone has their own opinions and you need to purchase what you like

In that particular instance I was talking about the new 8 speed that you berated in your previous post. You call Edmunds stupid for disproving what you said about the transmission despite the fact you've never driven a truck with one. 0 logic.

Regarding the 6l80, my original point was that it's not going to blow up after 5000 miles as that other guy made it sound. Generally speaking, GM autos are reliable...doesn't mean they are "good"...but they'll last if taken care of, just like anything else.

So I guess you've already ran it through Baja and for 24 hours straight at high rpms on a dyno?

I never berated any one manufacturer specifically. I just stated that all new truck automatic transmissions drive like crap and are more likely to blow up since they are constantly searching for a gear. Sure you can slip your torque converter all day long, and your have truck bogging down all over the place, IDGAF. Mine will lock up at 45 and I'll be happy

This is correct. You weren't even in the same book

In all honesty, they're all a crapshoot. Half of people will have problems, and half will make it to 100k without any problems. GMC and Toyota have the best interiors. There isn't any difference worth mentioning between all of the other ones(except for the torque mgmt and AFM).

Moral of the story is probably <5% of new trucks will make it to 200k without a major overhaul
