What happens if you don't pay an LSU parking ticket.

I got a parking ticket over fall break. I assumed since it was fall break, campus was considered open and I could park anywhere, so I left my car right in front of my building, which is an employee lot. I was wrong. I woke up the next morning to find a parking ticket on my windshield. I can't really appeal it, I was parked in the employee lot rather than my designated student lot. My question though, what happens if I just don't pay the ticket? This is the first ticket I've had in nearly a year and a half at LSU, and I've never had any other issues with the school. If I don't pay it, will they follow up on it at all, and more importantly, will they come and tow my car?

They won't give you your degree. Just pay it.

It goes on your fee bill if you are a student, if you are not a student they can't do much.

They will not tow your car but they will go after whoever owns the car. You better have your checkbook ready when Moose and Rocko show up.

If you are a current student then you should go ahead and pay it. Yes, they will tow your car, and then you will have to pay towing fees on top of the ticket. It happened to a friend back in 2007. He thought his car was stolen until he figured it out.

Eta: now that I think of it, he was actually parked illegally when he was towed. Ignore what I said.

If you're a student, you can appeal the ticket. They usually give you one free pass (got mine in February when parking in a resident only lot despite having a commuter pass). You present your case to some students and they decide

If you're a student you get a hold on your fee bill. Basically you'll end up needing to pay it if you plan on going to school in the future.

They'll tow your car on your third violation though.

If it goes on my fee bill that's fine. I missed the deadline to appeal it. I really have no problem with having to ultimately pay it. It's more an issue of my checkbook is currently at home in Dallas, Texas, and they made it very clear they don't take cash. I really just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to get towed or anything like that.
