Price point and method of delivery (people want it digital and on demand). Good point though.

With streaming and fast data connections, no reason to actually store anything anymore.

It is definitely still a thing. Perhaps less so now because of the affordability and accessibility of services.

I used to torrent everything 15 years ago. I still use it for some stuff but now I have Spotify, Netflix, Amazon, and a relatively affordable Adobe subscription.

I think Photoshop and Adobes move to subscriptions (that are like you said affordable) has a pretty big effect too.

Many, if not most, Kodi plugins are pirating.

IPTV is also pirating.

Seems like I hear about people "torrenting" things, but it also sees like streaming things on youtube or things like spotify or other legitimate services have made it easier to get content so that actually downloading the content just isn't worth it comparatively for most people.

You’re comparing apples and oranges.

People who use Kodi are not doing anything illegal.

The people that host streams are breaking the law.

People who download music or movies without paying for it one way or another are breaking the law.

It's not illegal. Show me the law.

If the Kodi app uses p2p they yes, it's illegal. If app uses links to streams only...it is not. The most popular apps like covenant and the former exodus who h nearly 80% of people with Lodi use are apps the link to streams.

Maybe not but you are no better than a shoplifter stealing a BluRay.

Whatever makes you feel better about yourself though.

I don't use Kodi personally but that's a terrible analogy.

Copywrite infringement whether hosting or consuming is still pirating.

The host of the copyrightedmedia is obviously risking punishment much harsher than those who are consuming the media.

Kodi and Terrarium both offer downloads as well as streaming btw.

How long it's located on the hard drive is irrelevant.

A stream never makes it on the hard drive.

Otherwise it would not be called a stream.

Please inform us where this magical temp folder is located then. You believe the entire stream is located in the system memory?

It's pirating whether you're hosting or consuming copywrited material.
