What do you think of this picture about dads and their jobs?

Is it implying white collar people don't work hard?

And I would bet less than a quarter of fathers wear suits to work, but that's beside the point.

so white collar men should feel bad because their educational and life choices provide them with more income and less 'hard work'?

I think it sends a positive message. We need to encourage kids to go to trade school and learn a craft.

Not everyone needs to read Shakespeare and know trigonometry.

No. It is implying people should appreciate good fathers who do not wear suits for their jobs.

A future single mother, current pregnant girlfriend of a trucker, shared this.

trigonometry

trig is important for many working class jobs. everyone should know the basics of trig. It recently helped me determine the size of a very oddly shaped building in which the owner had lost the plans

While I agree with that premise, it's a terrible way to spread that message. You don't need to put down white collar workers to spread a positive message for blue-collar workers. It's all relative/I may not have a labor intensive job, but I am required to problem solve all day long, as well as get up at 2am to do work at least once a week. Mentally draining.

It's a different type of hard work.

i am so thankful I got a college degree and only have to go out my job sites on occasion. I do not envy the laborers out there busting their arse in the heat all day.

i understood it, but it was the first time i ever got to use trig in the real world and to be hones, i was pretty pumped about that.

I don't think it does. And the larger perception by most women and children is probably to value the white collar worker more highly. So I don't think it does any harm and probably serves a decent purpose.

They didn't do that stuff when I was in school, which is part of why I'm angry

If a meme is what gets people to realize this, then I'm all bout it. I mean, the world needs ditch diggers too (Danny).

I will say this. I never minded a hard day's work outside... right up until I hit 40 and realized I was very glad I didn't have to do that every day.

you know, I'd like to think that the best part of a true blue collard worker , would be that he wouldn't have to say this..

Just do your job and do it for yourself..

I don't really give a shite what a father does for a living, as long as he's supporting his family.

I do think the stupid picture is saying that white collar guys don't work hard. Which is bullshite
