My problem is the die hard dedication to speeding tickets. Law enforcement priorities are seriously backwards if so much time, effort and money is being wasted on speeders. Those chicken shyt cops hiding to catch speeders should park at intersections and write tickets to people running red lights, or start some kind of educational program to help seniors become safer drivers.

They are a necessary evil. We've got to have them or there would be anarchy.

They seem to go after law abiding, peaceful folks sometimes instead of taking on the bad guys.

They suck when it is to raise revenue, intimidate citizens and interfere with your quiet enjoyment of life that harms no one.

Most are good and honorable. I would not want their job. Speed traps are over done and serve no purpose other than revenue generation.

Some are good, some are bad. And I base my opinion on personal experience.

The citizen expects police officers to have the wisdom of Solomon, the courage of David, the strength of Samson, the patience of Job, the leadership of Moses, the kindness of the Good Samaritan, the strategical training of Alexander, the faith of Daniel, the diplomacy of Lincoln, the tolerance of the Carpenter of Nazareth, and finally, and intimate knowledge of every branch of the natural, biological, and social sciences. If he had all these, he might be a good policeman

The average deputy or local cop in Louisiana had no other options. They're usually out of shape, low IQ, and hacked out a 2.2 in high school. State cops and some of the larger agencies have better quality cops.

Not at all.

We expect honesty and integrity, which most cops, outside of the obvious thieves that operate speed traps and steal possessions through asset forfeiture, have. (Unfortunately, Louisiana has many of these)

Most citizens do realize that cops will never turn on a dirty cop, no matter what.

This does tend to make us be somewhat distrustful of cops in general.

It goes back to the old saying....You get what you pay for.

If you pay unskilled worker wages....you are gonna get a lot of unskilled officers. That is the problem a lot of small departments run into.

They cannot compete against larger departments, state, and feds.

While I agree, I don't blame individual police officers for department policy much the same as I don't blame soldiers for horrible foreign policy decisions.

That said, some of the focus of law enforcement policy is ridiculous.

It would also help to weed out the bad cops if they had to serve time in General Population when they do get convicted. None of the special segregation and shite, do the crime, do the time for all!

Blame this on policy. It's proactive policing and revenue raising.

Community based policing died long ago. I don't blame individuals, it's the whole system and the fear Americans live with that we allow this to occur.

Two way street. The times I have been pulled over they have always been polite and professional. Never had a problem with them. Now the police officers I know personally I wouldn't let 90% of them in my home.
