Thinking about pulling the trigger on one.

The Latitude trim level is just above the base level: "Sport."

I can get a new one for approximately $21,000 out of the door. I don't want a car, but don't need a truck. It gets good gas mileage, which is a definite plus for me. The problem is, they kind of look like a van.

TIA

That was the problem for me too
Because of that look, I went with a new 2016 Jeep Compass Sport SE

I refuse to call it a Cherokee. It is basically a Liberty replacement.

I know you will break down in 6 months. Have you not seen how bad Fiat Corp is and that Jeeps are not reliable

21,000 out the door? I bought one yesterday and after taxes and all that crap it was 27,000. 21 would be a steal.

I love the car so far but def have to have the V6

LNCHBOX, get in here and tell us if this looks enough like a van that you would drive it.

If the answer is no, you're good to go.

I've got to ask - why do a brand new one of these versus a slightly used grand Cherokee?

That's really ugly.

My wife has a Grand Cherokee Limited. I'd suggest that or a Wrangler.

I'm happy with mine. I got a few of the upgrades though (keyless entry and go, moon roof, 75th anniversary package, etc) which brought it to $29.5k before taxes and whatnot.

I'll say this--- the fricking 8.4" nav system is shitty. NO CarPlay, NO voice-to-text if you're using an iPhone, and everything is only displayed on the center dash screen and not on the instrument panel screen.

So, if that's a deal breaker for you then look elsewhere. Do NOT believe the salesman when he tells you that there is an upgrade on the horizon. From everything I've read and from reading between the line of Jeep's press releases it appears as if they are never going to upgrade systems already sold. They MIGHT in the next year or so start selling new systems with CarPlay and such, but they've already said some nonsense about the current hardware not being able to handle the new software (which is total bullshite).

Other than that, I like it. It is the first non-car that I've ever owned (usually had fun with Mustangs). I'm not overly concerned with my car integrating with my phone so it doesn't really bother me too much. It rides nice and I haven't had any problems with it during the first couple of thousand miles.

Warranty.

I'd jump on a certified used one too. I ain't picky.

I like the Grand Cherokees too. Little more expensive, but nice.
