Itchy armpits are the worst. Had the same problem. At first I thought it was the aluminum so I switched to non-aluminum. But those were even worse. I think it's the aromatic chemicals (that give it good smell) that causes the skin irritation rather than the aluminum. Gave up on deodorants in the end. Wear an undershirt and take many showers. If I went back I would pick one without any scent.

When I stopped using the aluminum zirc deodorant, there was a 2-3 week period where my underarms just poured sweat. I sweat a whole lot less now.

This exactly. I used to switch brands. Adidas had one, then I'd use Mitchum, or Axe, or any other clear solid. I switched to Old Spice about 10 years ago and it is all I buy now. My wife even uses it sometimes.

Ditch the Toms and just wipe wet cotton candy under your arms instead. You'll wind up with the same sticky feeling.

same. i hardly ever sweat even with just straight-up deodarant now unless i'm really getting after something

The Toms stuff sucks. For aluminum free, the Arm & Hammer Essentials is the best I have used.
