According to the US census bureau, Ohio has about 8.8 million people over the age of 18. Just eyeballing those figures, that looks like about a half gallon of liquor per adult. Over a year's time it's really not that much at all.

That was just the top 10. Ohio sold 12.6 Million gallons total, $979 Million worth.

Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey – 277,171 gallons
Absolut Vodka – 272,987 gallons
Bacardi Superior Light Rum – 271,429 gallons
Smirnoff Vodka – 262,461 gallons
Kamchatka Vodka – 261,149 gallons
Jagermeister – 235,016 gallons
Black Velvet Canadian Whiskey – 228,024 gallons

My guess is that this pisses the entire population of Kentucky off.

Ever since they re-branded and started pushing the hell out of Fireball it has exploded.

It has actually been around since 1808.

Tito's is on the list for Louisiana. It's top five for sure. I saw the Nielsen ratings last week for the state. Can't really remember the rest.

I remember getting a 21 year old bottle of Scotch for my 21st birthday. To me, it was so nasty I could barely force myself to drink it.
Crown has many varieties and the higher end ones are really good. I try to drink mainly special reserve and I really enjoy it. It's smooth, so it makes it more enjoyable for those whose end goal is drunkedness.

Titos will out sell absolut in the state this year by around 5000 cases. That's why I put Titos up there. Was actually looking at those numbers today

Tito's is catching on here, but it's not there yet.

Close proximity to Texas obviously helps LA sales of Tito's.

Texas is (off the top of my head):

Crown
Goose
Jack
Titos
Fireball
Absolut
Makers Mark
Tuaca
Jaeger

and I think Cuervo/Patron/Jameson

Fireball is an easy compromise with mixed company. Everyone knows what it is and it's usually not everyone's favorite but they can tolerate it.

It's an in between of a shot of Jameson and a buttery nipple.

It's the new bartender drink of choice. Knocked Tuaca off its high horse in Texas...and that is a BIG deal. Used to be if you excluded New York, California and Louisiana - Texas consumed more Tuaca than all the other states COMBINED.

It goes down easy and it's only 70 proof so it's great to drink on shift. Slightly underproof and enough sugar to do Red Bull's work. Perfect bartender shot.

I love Tuaca. Never tried fireball. But I think I read it's cinnamon. Is it like hot damn?

Tastes like red hots

IIRC, Tito's used to be cheap as hell here, but for some reason, the price got jacked up to regular vodka price
