This is the most Monroe statement I've read in a long time.

west monroe -- the place that has an intersection with a KFC, popeyes, canes, TWO chickfilas and a mcdonalds & walmart deli for some nuggets thrown in for good measure.

One of the chick-fil-as was closed after the flooding in March, 2016. You failed to mention that the chick-fil-as were almost touching.

You also left off the fact that the Thomas Road exit also has 2 Waffle Houses, one on each side of the interstate. In addition, the next exit going West also has a Waffle House.

When I lived there Monroe people would seriously justify this by saying was only to go, while the other had a dine in area... They seriously saw the need for this

Why the need to justify this? They had the old small location and when they opened the larger restaurant there was enough business for both places. Before they opened one in Ruston, it was the only chick-fil-a on the interstate between Shreveport and Vicksburgh. So, it got a lot of interstate traffic.

Don't know what all they have there. But I know one garbage hole I wasted money on. Duck dynasty restaurant. It was awful. Don't know how they stay in business. Tax right off I'd guess save your money and go to burger king

First off, wouldn't that be more of a question to Chick-fil-a? As I said, it wasn't the original plan. They had the business for both, until the smaller location flooded. Now the remaining one causes traffic congestion at lunch.

So, no I don't find it moronic that chick-fil-a had enough business to operate two locations.

because that family is heroic in Monroe. It was pretty bland boring food when I went, and not having a bar of any kind sucked...but I feel like you went there not for the food.

When the show was big people would flock to Monroe from all over just to see the warehouse and would eat at the restaurant too...I kinda wished they would have put the restaurant downtown and MAYBE stimulated some kind of growth around it..but they put it right next to the warehouse... mighty self-serving of them

I ate at Golden Corral once and will never go back.

Walkons is not bad. The food is better than it use to be, but it is a cool place to go to watch games and drink.

I have never been to a Panda Express. It seems like it is a place people either hate or love..

But I am glad West Monroe will give it's citizens an opportunity to experience things the outside world has been experiencing for years.

Im new up here and the signage for this has thoroughly confused me. I see the one in operation, but I also see the signs next door saying that it’s closed and to go to the other one on the other side of the parking lot. Thank you for finally solving this mystery for me.

This definitely is strange. It remind me of when I was a kid and we’d pass the Stuckeys on both sides of the Interstate when going to Texas.

You like it up there?

I always joke about how bad N. La is. I have relatives that live near Shreveport and there are several times I had some interesting experiences up there, but I don't think I would mind living in a more rural area right outside of Monroe.. And although this is more central Louisiana.. But a more rural area right outside Alexandria.

Not sure what they will do, or can do with the old property. There have been rumors of it being rebuilt, but I doubt that will happen.
