Yeah, I'm sure that changes things. I haven't let my daughter have any social media yet. She's only 13 though.

I was a scrawny kid,was bused to a school way away from my neighborhood that was like 35% white at that time. I was picked on and bullied mercilessly from middle school through halfway of my Sophomore year in highschool till my parents moved us and I got to finish up my highschool at a much better school.
I'll tell you what. It does affect you pretty bad. I do remember the ones who didn't pick on me though and still appreciate them being there for me at the time over 2 decades later.
There's always a few people in school who don't try to adhere to societal norms or cliques. They just care about people and for those like that I am thankful.

Yes. And one day when I had enough, I jumped up (he was tall and was held back like 3 times), put him in a headlock, and punched until I saw blood on my knuckles. He never fricked with me again, and I never got in another fight in school again.
In 2019, I'd probably be in jail.

Middle school and high school girls are definitely complete bitches to each other.

I went to catholic Jr. High and High school at Redemptorist. We didn't have much bullying go on but there was this one huge and very dumb kid that bullied everyone. He was almost twice as big as most of us other kids. One time at lunch break he started fricking with me and for some reason, I looked up at him and started laughing in his face. The me madder he got the more I laughed. I am surprised that he did swing at me and have a fight started. In any case that big ugly fricker didn't mess with me ever again. I guess he figured that I wasn't scared of his big arse so he moved on to easier targets.

Like Mike Tyson said, "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth". A punch in the mouth will end the bullying because bullies are cowards.
Yes, when a pretty much normal kid gets bullied he can stand up for himself. But the majoroity of times the kids that get bullied the worst are the strange/different kids that dont really have that capacity. What would yall Bruce Lee wannabes suggest for those kids?

No, i was cool to everyone.
Nerds, Dorks, jocks, etc If you were good to me, i was good to you, so i was never bullied.
MY nephew was, and got tired of it, and pulled the kid by his arm into a steel pole, face first. Kid cried, my Nephew got all kinds of heat for it. I told him screw everyone, you stood up to a Bully, and stopped that BS, and both of you learned a life lesson.

I'm a girl. My dad told me if they pick on me to kick their arse. So that's what I did. And it worked.
As an adult I am 5'0" tall. You have to be tough.

Learned stick ball as a formal education
Lost a lot of fights
But it taught me to lose O.K.

Every day, but I’m still here, not traumatized, and some of them work for me. It taught me how to defend myself.

I did. I mentioned it on here before. In middle school I had to transfer to a small Catholic school and for 4 years I got it pretty bad.
It was so small that there was only 1 class for each grade and every year they had to merge either the 6th & 7th grade or 7th & 8th grade. Everyone had pretty much been in the same class with the same people since kindergartener so anyone new wasn't really welcomed right away...
But I have not ever been the one to back down... Or keep my mouth shut. I never told on anyone. I had been in public school so even then, if something went on at recess you didn't tell on each other. If you got in trouble it was because the teacher saw it. So they would mess with me, I would go back at them and it was me against 4 or 5 other kids.
One would hold me, another would slap me and the others would laugh. If I ever did something to "get them back" (i'd find any opportunity I could) they would go tell on me. It was really a miserable 4 years. I never told anyone about it until I got older because part of me was embarrassed, but once I got to high school it was a different story, but those 4 years in middle school has really stayed with me.

Interesting topic but because of responses.
I was never bullied and really didn’t see anyone around me ever bullied. And this was growing up in the 70s and 80s.
Got in countless, countless fights. But, that’s how we settled things. And, once done, all was good.
Interesting though seeing 4 pages of bully stories. Had no idea. Or, at least different perspective.

Stop being a bully, bitch. No one held you down and forced you to read it.
