I haven't decided if these are trashy or not yet, so I need the OT to tell me what to think.

I have a few neighbors that used these this year.

So using these lights means that we don't have to do this:

Wondering the same.. One of the nicer homes in my neighborhood used a spotlightlike deal to project them all across the house. Didn't look all too bad IMHO.

Personally, I'll stick with the large glass bulb colored lights for my place. Can't replace 30 plus year old strings of lights. Classic.

Are those pictures of actual houses with the LED lights? I'm impressed, it actually looks like the commercial!

What isnt trashy these days on the OT??

Is repeatedly making the comment that "(insert word/words) is trashy" a bit trashy?

This.

According to the OT there is an overwhelming inverse correlation between the popularity of an item and its trashy level.

Projected Christmas lights will really know they've made it when Cosmo starts a thread bitching about how many chicks are putting pictures on FB of their house with these lights in 2020.

It looks not so great compared to actual lights on a house. But I will admit that a few houses with large trees had them projecting into the trees and it was actually difficult to tell it wasn't regular lights. On the house it's easy to see somethings "off" about them. But the break up of the trees made it work.

Neighbor put one of these up. Looks nice but not that bright and not what I think of when I think Christmas lights. Then again they took 2 mins to set theirs up while I spent several hours doing mine. Only to keep them up for a few weeks.

So I guess they win.

I think they look awesome, very cool, even more so in conjunction with traditional lights. Do support widespread use. Seems like it would make decorating much easier as well.
