When you work in retail, you learn this very quickly...

It definitely depends what neighborhoods you are buy. I've walked into Wal Marts that were so nice you would have thought I was walking into Willy Wonka's chocolate factory.

Didn't it open like a month ago? Might have something to do with it.

The Academy in Alexandria is the one place in that town at which I don't mind shopping . The check out lanes are the fastest I have ever been through and if they see the lines starting to have more than a couple people backed up the will call all employees that are available to open a few more registers.

I worked in the footwear department the spring semester my freshman year at LSU. It was the most miserable experience of my life. The way you described the customers is a pretty accurate observation of the daily crap I dealt with back then. It made me swear to never work in retail again in my life.

I worked in the fishing department in college too. Every year before back to school, the book sack and shoe area would literally get destroyed everyday. If I had to work the closing shift, I'd have to finish my work and EVERYONE had to help reorganize the shoes and book sacks. People are animals.

I disagree. I've had real good experience with AutoZone. Maybe I got lucky every time. The worst are Home Depot employees. Beyond telling you the general location of products in the store, they know nothing!

I worked at Academy in Lafayette during college and loved it. Hired mostly college students.

Customers we ok except during back to school and Christmas.

I actually like Auto Zone.

When I was in high school I was getting gas on the way to school and I was running late. I accidently forgot to put my gas cap back on and ran over it because I had placed it ontop of the back tire of my jeep.

I went across the street to Auto Zone to get another one and they weren't open yet. I showed the guy my old gas cap through the door and he let me come inside and get a new one even though they weren't open yet.

I recently bought a pair of basketball shoes at Foot Locker and the kid that was working there become my personal chauffeur. He tried to upsell me on soles like his life was dependent on it but he was 100% smiles when I bought a pair of shoes instead. I would they were on commission?

I was pretty disappointed my last visit to a home improvement store. I specifically looked out for the wise older black man employee and was stunned when he didn't know shite. That never happens.
