I'm happy the age isn't lowered. Bunch of girls hit the porn industry at 18. Lowering it will just have girls running off to LA at 15 and 16.

I am pretty sure that pornography is 18 across the country. They won't touch that shite.
I looked into those laws b/c of nudes and texting. La it's legal for a 17 yr old to send/receive nudes but if you send a nude pic to someone in a state where it's 18, you committing a felony.

TLDR, porn industry wants NOTHING to do with anyone under 18 b/c of distribution.

I guess the education system has much to do with that age limit. Other countries don't have the same education system up to 18, and they don't have the same grad programs/undergrad university systems.

For instance, in Brazil, after high school you can just go to "Law school" by passing a particular test. There isn't any undergraduate degree necessary.

ETA: The sex tourism aspect probably is a large reason as well. The younger age of consent, the more domestic sex trafficking , and the younger they are, the easier they're influenced.

Think about it, at an age like 16, that's about 20% of your life that you've lived (with life expectancy at about 80).

They're not qualified for any higher paying jobs based on education, and with if they had a child? Which is far more likely if they're above/at the age of consent. They can't obtain the job to support the child.

There's just a shite ton of risks that you'd introduce if you lowered the age of consent.

However, I can guarantee you could find pictures of 16 year old models, post them here without disclosing their age, and have the majority of people on here respond that they would hit it.

Of course that could happen, but I can tell you without a doubt, that I have come across girls that age with an older appearance (appearing towards 20, basically older than 16 by a few years), but more than anything they behave like children in so many ways. Sometimes just being around someone that young for a little while can remind you of their lack of perspective at that point.

15-17 year old girls especially try to display "maturity", but its clearly just a mimic of what they perceive as "mature" actions, and the child still comes out.

So all in all, unless you are actively pursuing individuals this age (weird), or you're a teacher (lol)/parent/family member, their interests/maturity/life circumstance should never have you crossing their paths or it would rarely happen even if the age of consent was lowered.

At least thats my two cents.

I help students out with their math/science subjects on the side if you are wondering what has me crossing paths. Usually its high school level (younger kids can be a nightmare in terms of behavior).

No, I'm going as Jerry Lee Lewis for Halloween and wanted to be completely accurate. I was just making sure I was in the clear before I went to Arkansas and married and my 14-year-old cousin.
