Buffington was then issued a criminal summons and told he was free to leave, to which he told an officer, “Hope you enjoy the rest of your career.”

The report says the officer took the comment to mean that Buffington would have the officer fired, so the reporter was then arrested and booked into the Parish Prison.

The cop is such a pussy and just made it worse for everybody including himself.

Yeah for people who are expected to be a little more thick skinned and maintain calm in tough situations, they sure get their panties knotted up pretty easy. You hurt my feelings you're under arrest. What a waste of taxpayer money and time. #batonrougemurdercapital

One thing people rarely bring up, but we all use when factoring cop attitude opinions, is that we all knew that guy/gal who went into LE. And we know how insecure, afraid and angry "those" guys/gals were growing up. Then they get that firearm and a badge and they play out their psycho revenge fantasy in retaliation for their fear to live an abundant life

Typical police bullshite

No wonder why people dislike them so much. Do your job. That doesn't include trying to swing a big dick around. This isn't the movie "Let's Be Cops"

He's not breaking the law. Who cares.

There's a lot of things I don't like in life. Doesn't mean I just go arresting people for the hell of it

Or they just don't want someone filming when they were protecting and serving the burglar.

He should be reporting the news, not creating it.
Aint the first time this douce has riled the packs.
He basically said, "Do you know who my farther is?", TFM...
9 times out of 10 that doesn't help.
He's made himself the news.
Very Kardashian(sp) IMO

Is being bad at your job against the law?

Yes, he was breaking the law. He was interfering.

Put yourself in the officer's shoes. You arrive at a burglary call. You don't know if the suspect is still on the scene. Hiding maybe. Maybe he left. You are the officer now...you have no idea so you must investigate to clear the scene. As you look around, probably in dark areas, you have some geek kid behind you taking flash photos and lighting you up. They ask him not to and he continued.

He had the flash on his news camera on.

Let me ask you this, how were those episodes of cops filmed at night? Not to mention, South Eugene is well lit.

Somebody says "enjoy the rest of your career" in a demeaning tone and I promise you I wouldn't want to haul them off to jail.

Lack of standards with cops and their use of judgement will be their downfall.. and unfortunately it has a negative impact on the rest of us who desire a functional, but less intrusive police force.

We are talking in circles here. The pro-cop folks are either incredibly dumb, trolling or a little bit of both.

Any logical indivual knows this dude was just trying to do his job and picked the wrong night to do it. Nothing more, nothing less
