What’s this all about?

Nice try but it is white bread in English.

The 007 is only like $300 and is an awesome watch. It’s a good automatic diver that keeps better time than some much more expensive stuff.

Let's not get carried away with the accuracy of the 7s26 movement. Sure you can get lucky but they have high positional variance and on average will be a +/- 10 SPD movement. They like Miyota 9015s aren't the easiest to regulate either but the 7s26 will run forever, it is like the AK-47 of watch movements. Seiko is certainly one of the best bangs for the buck but you have to go JDM only for their coolest watches, but there are several great JDM sellers that ship to the US. The only nit to pick with most of the Seiko divers is the lack of sapphire crystal. I have a couple where the Hardlex (mineral glass) is near opaque with scratches but they have been ridden hard. Note that Seiko chooses to use Hardlex on even their much more expensive divers since it is less shatterproof and makes the watch dial more visible underwater.

Big range of prices. Blancpain from what I've seen will go 8K-45K. Rolex will go 2K-30K.

I'm going with the classic above and sowing the other $44,950 on hookers and blow.

I have the Ocean 1 Vintage Red and I don't give a damn--it's a great watch with excellent build quality. I constantly get compliments on it.

You can get a worn out old Datejust for that, or a similar condition Air King. If you stretch it to $2500ish you can probably find an older Explorer I (14270) with a desperate seller.

Typo - was trying to hit 5 on the 10 keypad and it's just above the 2 - just not ready to spend that much.

God those are terrible. Last watch thread we had some fool mentioned his Movado model and I googled it. Now I have Movado adds pop up all of the time. Just no.

They are still around, huh? I was there when the schism happened at WUS. I posted on both for a while and then just reverted back to WUS. Many of the early members were from the Military watch sub forum who just wanted a place to continue their epic thread that was mainly about coffee and biscuits.

As to the whole homage thing everyone has their opinion and I am pretty ambivalent about it. I just tend to recommend people new to watches avoid the me too designs.

Some other micro-brands that make dive watches to consider:

NTH and Lew and Huey (Janis Trading) do some great things but they come in batches and sell out quickly

Anstead
Obris Morgan
Zixen
Halios
Borelias
Bernhardt
Limes
Scurfa
Tempest
Helm
Magrette
Glycine (not really a micro but have nice watches at entry prices)
Helson
Armida
Maranez
Nodus

Good luck on your search.
