They've pretty much done away with the "world's fair" part in future world.

It's my favorite park now as an adult.

There were supposed to be more hotels around the Bay lake, I know Persian one for sure, and I forgot the other one.

Yep. They did move the grotto back behind the coaster though.

That's the 7 Seas Lagoon. Man made. Bay lake is the real lake on the other side of the Contemporary. Where Discovery Island is.

Whenever we go we usually do the breakfast to get Mickey and crew out of the way.

Then we did fast passes for Anna/Elsa, Woody/Buzz. For others we just see if the line is bad or not.

I will say we went and saw Mickey by Tony's in the front of MK. We lucked out and the line wasn't long after getting out of dinner. And now Mickey actually talks to you. Freaked me out at first.

Has anyone done the cruise yet? Jut curious for any tips.

We're doing one next summer. A 5 day 4 night one out of PC. We plan to do a day in advance and stay at the beach club. Hang out there for the day and go to downtown disney that night. Just need to figure out how to get to PC from out hotel. I'd assume they have a shuttle of some sort.

There's a magical express type bus that will take you from the resort to PC. The resort will get you set up if you let them know about the cruise when you book.

They were working on that when I was there 2.5 years ago. Looked pretty sweet.

Only reason I know is because I used to get it wrong all the time. Then had an argument with my dad (who's a real disney nut) over it. He was right of course.

Why don't they expand the monorail?

I liked the older rides, but I do like getting buzzed there and at Animal Kingdom.

It's expensive as shite. You have to remember that they didn't have the bus system back then. and only had the magic kingdom resorts. The monorail was all they needed... even to get to EPCOT. Now, there are buses and even water coaches which are much cheaper buying and maintaining.

My bet would be it would be expensive and not add additional revenue.

It would cost too much.

quote:

When Las Vegas built a monorail connecting several resorts, it cost more than $650 million for just 4 miles, or about $150 million per mile. São Paulo, Brazil is building a 15 mile monorail line for a reported $800 million, or about $50 million per mile.

quote:

Let’s assume Disney can build the monorail for the same price as São Paulo – $50 million per mile. The proposed track runs about three miles, so that means this monorail expansion would cost $150 million.

They said it would cost $100M a mile to do. I can't see how though.

It looks to be just concrete posts and track.

The buses take the magic our of it though.
I feel like Walt would never of gone for buses. Street cars maybe, but not buses.

Though usually the bus is more comfortable as they really squeeze you on the monorails
