Not only that, but employee hours would be cut back. Hope these employees enjoy working 25 hr work weeks.
frick Wal-Mart--give these people 40 hours a week, insurance options and hopefully they will be able to keep "decent" employees while weeding out the weak and employees with piss poor attitudes. Costco does this. why not walmart?

They are trash store and market to the lower class and employ lower class workers to ensure they can keep their 3% profit

You're not supposed to be able to support a full family as a cashier at Walmart. These jobs are for supplemental income, old people, and college kids.
Bingo.
When government subsidies aren't enough, it's now expected that businesses subsidize you.
At what point does personal responsibility become a "must" in the equation of life?

Protesters will be crushed by the stampede of shoppers trying to grab a $99 TV set.

They can get $15 an hour when they perform work that is worth $15 an hour. I'm a college student and have worked in retail at Academy during summers in the past. It's the easiest fricking job on the planet. You walk around, help customers, restock shelves, and zone areas. THAT'S IT. Not to mention, the workers at Walmart are fricking oblivious to everything going on. Most of the time, these "employees" are just having social talk while holding some item to make themselves look busy. I mean shite, we could have an entire 8th grade class go into Walmart and meet the same production levels as their current employees.

If everyone took basic micro and macro econ in high school then these people would not exist.
That would be assuming these kids went to HS.

If you don't want minimum wage pay, don't have minimum wage skills. It's that simple.
And if you do have minimum wage skills, learn that you'll need to work more hours and/or multiple jobs to raise a family. An unskilled, 40hr/week single job was never meant to support a family >1 (or perhaps 2 with a nonworking spouse).

I pretty sure that most people asking for $15/hr minimum wage don't realize that the raise in pay with eventually mean the raise in cost of living.
Something has to offset that increase in expense for a business.
Yep. Increased wages --> increased prices --> still living in poverty because you work at fricking walmart

I can't wait to see how these protests change when everything becomes automated and they cut their labor force in half.

Not to make this political but are the Teamster's hands involved in this movement somewhere?
Because I love it when these folks allow the Teamster's to force the employer to raise wages and the employer responds by cutting positions and hours to make up the short fall. Not to mention the look on their faces when they see "union dues" coming out of each paycheck.
