Have they paid for all their terrorism and dead U.S. troops?

I didn't think so.

The IRGC has been doing this for years. It's pretty common and is to be expected when transitting the Strait.

Just can't get complacent because you never know when shite can happen.

Didn't Obama just give them permission to develop their nuclear program while they constantly block IAEA inspectors from inspecting?

No they actually signed a deal which allows IAEA inspectors in and have halted their nuclear weapons program. Go read the actual agreement as opposed to spouting ignorant BS

As a former sailor I can tell you this happens all the time. In fact during the cold war, the Soviets would park "research" vessels off the coast of our major ports and try to collide with USN ships causing an incident.

Iran has been "harassing" the USN since the 80's. We have never sank their swiftboats.

You just see more of it in the news today because everything today is captured on video

Also, the USS Nitze was in international waters NOT Iranian territorial waters as recognized by the UN

quote: Still cant believe that bastard gave them that money. He was obligated to. Back before the Iranian revolution the government under the Shah paid lots of money for military equipment. When the revolution happened and the hostages were taken, Carter refused to deliver the equipment. Essentially, the US accepted money for the purchase and didn't deliver what the money was for. A committee was formed way back in the 1980's to deal with this, and it was only when Iran agreed to the nuclear treaty that the US released the funds. This wasn't some shady "bribe", the money was owed to Iran the entire time and is being repaid over 35 years late.

How heavy is all that water you're carrying? Why didn't earlier administrations pay it? Why are we being told the timing of the hostage release was dependent on the timing of this payment?

Quit being a frickboi

What precedent is that? The one where we have nukes pointed at them? Or the one where we have them surrounded by military bases? Grow the hell up and push aside your polarized Obama hatred for one second a join reality.

The only time the US has responded to Iranian provocations was when the USS Samuel Roberts struck a mine in the Persian Gulf.

We responded with Operation Praying Mantis (wiki)

That was more of a question than anything, but I do know that they have historically blocked UN inspectors from checking their shite out. I have no doubt the same will continue.

Also, ever heard of Stuxnet? I wonder what that attacked in Iran. Was it a small uranium enrichment site (like the ones used for making bombs)?

Stuxnet specifically targets programmable logic controllers (PLCs), which allow the automation of electromechanical processes such as those used to control machinery on factory assembly lines, amusement rides, or centrifuges for separating nuclear material. Exploiting four zero-day flaws,[4] Stuxnet functions by targeting machines using the Microsoft Windows operating system and networks, then seeking out Siemens Step7 software. Stuxnet reportedly compromised Iranian PLCs, collecting information on industrial systems and causing the fast-spinning centrifuges to tear themselves apart.[5] Stuxnet’s design and architecture are not domain-specific and it could be tailored as a platform for attacking modern SCADA and PLC systems (e.g., in automobile or power plants), the majority of which reside in Europe, Japan and the US.[6] Stuxnet reportedly ruined almost one fifth of Iran's nuclear centrifuges.[7]

That destroyer is moving pretty quick for a big ship. I didn't know they could go that fast.

You know it's making a helluva wake at the speed. If I can was captain, I'd cut hard to port (left) and went right in front of them and see how many I make porpoise when they crossed my wake.

Lol yeah Stuxnet is wild, I'm not exactly sure what the target was but if I had to guess it was probably the nuclear program.

that Captain should have authorized some "warning shots" across the bow of one of those little RHIB's they were in...or he should have just shot off the Sea Whiz a couple of times just to make their butts pucker...bunch of idiots..
