What can I get at a Verizon Store that an authorized dealer cannot? I am a long time Verizon guy and just time for upgrade. Just the standard 2 year "my phone is about dead" upgrade. The Verizon Store in Katy SUCKS ASS. Always packed and when they realize that you are not a new customer and just there for an upgrade they are shitty.
Can I get my phone and still get my 50 dollar rebate for the 2 years?

That's more or less the relationship.
Dealers are resellers, the Verizon store is Verizon owned and operated.... I guess like buying from an Apple Store and buying an Apple from Best Buy?
The company owned store will usually have a wider range of products, and in house customer service and technical staff. Generally, the people at a company owned store will be more knowledgeable, because they're all Verizon all the time.
Doesn't mean they're more willing to help.... just more capable.
when i worked at t-mobile, we absolutely hated the dealers bc they wouldn't deal with billing issues, upgrades, or any kind of other issue. they exist only to get new customers and nothing else. it became a problem bc they would sell phones to customers without explaining form and function and then send those same ppl to us for any issues.
billing as well, they would give customers the worst plans and let us take the brunt of the customer's frustrations.
but that was t-mobile, i imagine it's similar to vzw's dealer networks.
The Verizon Dealer, if I call will just want to get you in the store. I just wanted any info before I wasted my time.
Well, there is a much higher chance the dude at the store will tell you what services they offer than random people on the internet that might not live anywhere near you or the store you are interested in visiting. But, hey, your call dude.

The dealer sets its own prices/return policies. Lots of dealers have a rule "if more than 10 minutes of use, can't be returned"
Also, many dealers will make you sign a second contract with them...(Verizon pays them a certain amount for every contract they get...if you cancel, verizon takes the money back...so they take it back from you)
Verizon Company stores will still tech support your phone and everything after 30 days. But during that first 30 days you are stuck with the dealer. It can be a pain in the arse if you get a lemon, or just don't want that phone.
Also, I'm pretty sure they won't honor your $50 New Every Two credit. Thats only at company stores. But sometimes dealer prices are $50 cheaper or better. You gotta price compare.
I am a previous owner of 4 retail authorized outlets for a wireless carrier. We offered better pricing, better/ quicker service, and a clean friendly environment. I was able to do anything, with the exception of opening a phone to fix it. I sold my business for a nice profit- these guys make CASH! Go to a dealer-you are bound to get better pricing and service-if they are a legit dealer and not some fly by night BS foreign guy- yeah so what, racist!
