re: Why hasn’t every NFL team lowered concession prices like the falcons?

Selling out means they aren’t stocking enough inventory, so demand exceeds supply. However, raising prices decreases demand until supply and demand find equilibrium. Increasing supply to meet demand could mean more revenue if raising prices causes demand to drop.

Also, the prices at the Cajun Dome are NOT THE SAME as Cajun Field. Different contract, different providers, different products. Prices in the dome are easily doubled at Cajun field, and have way fewer points of sale. Completely different situation.

but if they are selling out at the higher prices, wouldn't lowering prices just reduce their profits?

Not if they figured out how to stock more inventory.

That's what I started with, but you didn't copy in your quote.

I am sure there are some delays of when they can increase their inventory stock, plus they want to make sure they follow trends to ensure it isn't a 1-time thing to avoid spoilage if they increase inventory and suddenly the lines go away. But, knowing how so many larger companies work, they would most likely try to find that happy medium of minimizing shortages, running out late in the 4th, and finding a way to continue to increase prices; than try to increase inventory, lower prices, increase sales & profits. The later part requires some serious planning, forecasting, and creative thinking than may be beyond what the people of Aramark (or whoever supplies the superdome) are capable of.

F&B is not typically owned by the teams.

Ok, but wouldn’t whoever did control it want to make more money? It’s like the modern CEO has completely lost any ideas besides “charge more”

Their new stadium has a ton of stands and is able to handle the volume. Superdome, for example, is pretty darn tight in the concourses. I do like the supermarket / convenience store model where you can pick whatever and then checkout.

yep. this is overlooked. maybe the area a vendor has in the superdome isn't large enough to keep much more inventory on stock

At an LSU game, I’mma buy that one big $8 water so I don’t die, but I’ll starve before I waste any more money on the shitty overpriced food in that stadium.

I don't get how most people are still hungry after eating and drinking all day while they are tailgating. I never get food in the stadium. Maybe a water, especiallly during afternoon SEC games.

Except the falcons made record profits by lowering the cost, and I 100% that would be the case for everyone

I've thought about this. When I own the STL Cardinals

I'm making a contract with the fans. Why should the players get all the guarantees and the people paying for it get zilch

we get 3 million seats. Concession prices for the next season roll back to prices of the last world series win So 2011 prices

And a cap of 5% increase YoY in ticket prices. So if 3 mill Tix are sold..a 40 dollar ticket would be 42 the next year

But that’s the thing. Greed would actually be lowering the prices because you make more money
