Making a guys trip to sin city for NYE. Staying at the Mirage, planning on a club for the big night. Any tips from frequent guests during the NYE holiday? Things to do/not to do?

All the clubs are going to be insane, I like XS. Be prepared to spend spme $$ if you want to get bottle service around that time.

I stayed at the Mirage this past March and if you are under the age of 50 I would advise to stay some where else. Only good thing about the Mirage is their Sports Book. Very boring atmosphere.

When you get there, don't call it sin city.

The room is free, so I think I'm gonna stick with it

Secure entry into whatever club you are going to through a promoter. If you don't, be prepared to sit in line and waste the night away maybe getting into the club before it closes.

If you just call a club looking for a table for NYE you're going to get fleeced. You need to get a host to help you out.

Don't even think about trying to go out on the strip. Friends did that a couple of years ago and said the atmosphere was bad. As in, you could get killed at any second bad. And this was from people who grew up in NOLA and know the FQ and Mardi Gras.

Getting around on the Strip is next to impossible due to the crowds. You will need to get to the hotel/casino where the club is located very early to avoid the crowds. May as well plan on having dinner at the same location you are going clubbing.

this x1000. Vegas for NYE is absolutely nuts, and all the poors and trash who can't afford to go to the clubs hang out on las vegas blvd. it's awful.

honestly id recommend against vegas for NYE altogether. Vegas is amazing any weekend of the year, but for New Years its way too crowded and all the prices are inflated; flights, hotels, clubs etc. Save your money and go during March Madness or something.

Your wallet will hurt much worse. A group of guys trying to get into a club in Vegas and actually have fun will be stupid expensive.

As others have said, you need a host asap and be prepared to fork out likely at minimum 750 a person to get into one of the bigger clubs, upwards of several thousand a guy if you want to drink a lot while in there.

Good choice club wise. I just got back from Vegas a few days ago and will be heading back in a few weeks. Been to Hakkasan several times since it opened and it is still on of the best in Vegas. Other suggestions would be XS and Surrender at the Wynn/Encore.

If you go the Hakkansan route, you better find a decent host. I have one that works the door every Fri and Sat at Hakkansan and he is gold. On a normal Friday / Sat night, without a connection you could be waiting an hour or more to get in. On NYE, forget it.
