It should be celebrated on june 19 instead of using july 4 to bring awareness and participation for juneteenth. Latching onto july 4th is bush league but certainly not surprising.

Usher is a spoiled brat. Wealthy from the time he was a teen, he doesn't really know what it's like to struggle in America. He knows more personal and financial freedom than 99% of this nation's citizens. But you know...you gotta keep it real.
And IMO his sociopolitical statement seems like a slap in the face to the 20% of America's armed forces who are black and who put their lives on the line for this country every day.

You know I thought this wasn't a big deal at first but now that I'm thinking about it frick that guy. He'd probably be somebody's slave in Africa if it wasn't for America regardless of the crap his ancient ancestors endured. I don't have a problem with Juneteenth but disregarding independence day for it is ridiculous.
