I remember the thread. Was reminded then and now of having an old college friend working for union pacific that had a company truck with the wheels for the railroad the last time I saw him.

Wonder what his job title is?

Cenla, last year there was some talk of getting together a party train on saturdays when LSU has home football games that would run across the state and stop on campus during the game...you could be the driver!....

I don't live a grand life.. Well besides enjoying my family.. Just have to be smart with your finances.. Is there some things I'd like to do, sure.. But those things aren't as important as my kids getting to things they want.. And incase anybody is wondering we don't have any kind of government assistance.. It's not hard if you keep your bills straight!

Last year I took a spur of the moment trip to Memphis for 3 days with the family.. Those are the best.. We've done it a few times since having kids..

I think that is kcs that runs behind the stadium.. I wish I could run that one though..

FYI :we say run the train not drive it.. Doesn't have a steering wheel..

I would be rethinking things if I was making that single.

Didn't you just recently start making more than that?

I tailgate near the tracks and have seen that train come by more than once with a very large LSU flag flying out of one window...

makes sense...honestly, seems like it would be pretty cool to roll out into the night in a locomotive...

My prior salary was under that, but my annual income hasn't been below that since I was 22. Boiling crawfish, cooking, painting, building cargo elevators and other various jobs throughout the years kept me above that.

Now I should never have to pick up a chefs knife or paintbrush unless I want to.

Well, Houston was good to me, now making my way to Bloomington for a while! Hopefully they cut the boards soon and put me back to a conductor so I can go back home for a little while..

Anyone wanna recommend something in Victoria to do.. Gonna be staying there and working in Bloomington... Leaving Houston today around noon..

What?

And what's your story? Unemployed? Existential crisis?

Don't be rough on the railfan nerds who take photos of trains.

One of the biggest problems with the BR mentality is that the only good restaurant is a chain.

Whoa....dude. I'm interested to hear the name of that chain.
You obviously need to venture out a bit.

Could you tell us what a conductor does? What exactly does the train engineer do?
