Cenla, how do guy's work every day without going on mandatory rest. Does your extra board have scheduled rest days.

We don't.. I think with engineers they have a 5 & 1.. Instead of conductors working 6 and being off 2...you can't work everyday in a row.. As long as you get a24 hour break in between it, your starts start over again.. No scheduled rest days.. You are off when your off.. We have pl days and vacation days like everyone else..

I have Special wife who does a great job with the bills.. I just go to work and come home.. Try to be smart with our finances.. Kids come first. We'll have our turn when I retire (unless their are grandkids by then.. Lol)

Okay I understand. We are guaranteed 3900, but we have 2 days off one week and 1 day the next week. The board is slow right now.

I would love to have a scheduled day off.. I like being off.. It's always good to have a slow turning board with a guarantee!! This board I'm on now is turning pretty good.. Get a full 12 on the jobs we cover and make right at 500 for 12..i had a little tow in last night and made 525..and 3 times out.. I would mind some federal rest though so I can get a chance to run back home...

Y'all must make about the same as us. We are at 45 per hour now, going to 46 and change August 1. I try to stay on overtime job when the board is slow.

I have a long ways to go!! May have to move over here once I'm in for good.. This round should only last a couple months.. They are doing some work around San Antonio and rerouting trains through Houston..

Is your cockpit anything like the bullet trains the japs and germans have? Because that would make it FUN!

You have to be one of the most open posters I have seen here. I find it refreshing. You are like this is me and I ain't hiding shite except maybe my real name...

Don't get me wrong, driving a train would be one of the coolest experiences ever but the difference between the 2 is like driving a 64 impala vs a Tesla P85D. Eventually we will have trains in the US that go WELL over 200mph with crazy tech and by then you will have seniority, that is going to be awesome for you!

Lol.. The difference is what we haul and the power needed... I haul freight and they haul people.. I'm sure there is a difference in power between the two... Would be crazy though.. Lol
