my point is, every time this happens to black people and we have these threads without fail the joke is "they were just good boys never did anything wrong lol." This time it's " this was obviously a completely random act."

I had a longterm gf and house a few miles away. I was going to uno at the time. Spent all my time between classes there since it was down the street. I typically left around 5-6pm to go home for dinner with the SO. That day was no different except i was awaken by all my friends at my door at 6am the following morning

Marijuana is more pervasive then you seem to want to admit. If you assume that just because they have weed, they are hanging around with thugs and killers, you are assuming wrong. If you are just saying that anyone who ever has weed is part of the "criminal element", then you even more so have dealings with "those circles" than you would probably even know

I'm sure you do, and I haven't tried to pretend I have any "inside" information. All I know about this case is what I've seen and read of local media reports and read on TD.

But I've lived in N.O. (or the metro area) most of my life. When six guys with guns (or four, or how ever many) show up at your door in the middle of the night, there's typically a reason. I'm not saying it wasn't mistaken identity and I'm not saying your friends deserved to get shot. But if several armed gunmen break down your door in the middle of the night, they usually have a reason, misguided or not, to do it.

I can't comment on the "randomness". I can tell you unequivocally that my friends had absolutely no clue whom these kids were or had any dealings with them whatsoever!! in my mind that makes it random! They were minorities on the street. We regularly had BMW's, Cadillac's, and a lexus parked out front. Could these things have played a part? ABSOLUTELY. Does it make any difference in what these animals did?!

not at all, murder is always awful. Just usually not random unless you are talking about serial killers

Tell that to the boy and father's family in metairie
There was also another violent home invasion less than 9 blocks away within two weeks of this incident.

what kept you from being there the night of the shooting? just curious?

it must haunt you every single day?
i know you didn't ask this to me, but I was actually at his house earlier that day, as I was many days.

They were actually getting ready to move out a few weeks later because they wanted to live in a better neighborhood. The guy who was murdered was supposed to move in with me at the end of May 2010.

I am assuming denyed feels the same way, but not a day goes by where i don't think to the what ifs. I have imagined what I would have done if I was there. If I could have saved him, or if I would have died too. I imagine what if he had moved two months earlier and he was living with me then, and what we would be doing together today.

I took in Chad's puppy that day, and he has been my dog ever since, so every day when I come home from work I am again reminded of him and what could have been, yet also reminded how cruel the world can be.

So yes, haunted is a pretty good word to describe it.

Think of what ifs all the time. Chad was going to go play beer pong that night but backed out.

What awesome parents these guys apparently had. Bravo, Mom! Raising three murderers is no small thing. Don't you know that bitch is just a fricking nightmare?
