Who is trolling? I think they would be great personally. Imagine the reduction of traffic in major cities because people decide to bike.

Upset?

I'm not upset. It just seems logical to me that if I lived somewhere and it was missing something that was very important to me and I found another place that was more suited to what I wanted, I'd simply move to that place and be happy. Doesn't that make sense to you?

Some of us are lucky enough to live in an area with great bike lanes.

I personally don't ride much, my trips are to the bar mostly , but I'm glad thousands of others get that choice. There's enough cars on the road.

Sorry kid, hate to disappoint you but zero fricks given here. Bicycles don't bother me. It's quite easy for me to go around them with plenty of room to spare.

ETA: However, if you're looking to rustle jimmies, it appears some in this thread are pretty upset. Just look a few posts up at what Constant Cough posted for an example.

So you're telling me if there is a designated crosswalk going across a highway, the onus isn't on teh pediestrian to stop, make sure traffic is clear, and then carefully cross? They can just stroll right on out despite traffic coming?

Taht's bullshite.

If there are traffic control devices pedestrians have to follow them to have right of way. But if there is a random crosswalk across a road with no crossing signal the pedestrian has the right of way - vehicles must yield. This is not found in highways because of the high speed of traffic. Usually it is found in congested downtown urban areas and college campuses. That is the law.

Bike lanes galore. How is it?

Meh, it's okay. I'm not a commuter cyclist, so I can't speak to that. My experiences on long rides through the suburbs and Hill Country tell me that there is still not much of an acceptance here for cyclists, but that's something that cyclists will have to deal with because, as I said, it would be far too costly to add bike lanes all over the place.

No. I agree with most of what youre saying. It's the constant reminding us that you had a Europe trip. Just. fricking. Stop.

They have a lot of designated bike lanes here. Still makes me a lil nervous riding in them though. Don't wanna get run over by someone texting while driving that didn't pay attention and started going into bike lane.

Reality is this was started because of that but not sole reason. Seeing it in action it just makes perfect sense in large cities... if you feel that this is "shoving it down your throat" then that is a personal issue you may need to resolve. Outside of pictures I posted today, I've started 2 threads since May and 3 since April, I guess that is "shoving" right?

I guess I should just pull threads from reddit

Next time you're in traffic, ask yourself if we need more bikes or more cars.

The fact there the shoulder is about 6 inches wide stops me. Last thing I want is to get clipped by someone texting, eating, changing radio stations, etc.

when you and a car can't possibly fit in the same lane then you just need to take the whole lane. let cars pass you like they would a slow car.

You willing to pay taxes to be able to ride that bike on the streets, you know, kinda like car drivers have to do with gas taxes?

If we just stood all of the cyclists against a wall and machinegunned them we could solve the problem much cheaper.
