I mean I stop there for a night whenever I head to Athens for a game and had fun but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there.

Wonder where the OP is from? Surely there's a better city they can go to.

Great so you have spent a total of 1 day in ATL, had fun, and yet wouldn't recommend going. Great tell me more

I'd recommend checking out Sweetwater. Fun, chill place to spend an afternoon and get a bit festively drunk.

There's a lot of hate for ATL in the Lounge. OP, i'm from Atlanta and we would welcome any/all visitors to come to this city. Since you guys are in your mid-20's you'll probably want to stay near Buckhead or Midtown. Buckhead has a strip of bars and is where a lot of the young professionals hang out. Midtown is going to be slightly older crowd probably late 20s - early 30s. To get to the Braves game, you can take Marta down to Turner Field and then they have a shuttle from the station to the field itself. There is nothing to do around Turner so don't plan on getting there too early unless you want to crash someone's tailgate.

The Coke Museum is cool and next door is the Georgia Aquarium. Both are must-do's while visiting the city. You definitely need to go to the Varsity which is a staple of Atlanta.

You should probably check out Tripadvisor and see the top rated attractions. Not sure what you're into so can't really give you thoughts other that what I put above.

Have fun and don't listen to the haters in here.

I disagree. They're in their mid-20s, it'd be a waste of time to go to either of those unless they're just really bored. I live in ATL and haven't been to the aquarium ever and last went to coke when I was in elementary school.

There are plenty of other things to do here than those things IMO.

We are going to better cities. ATL is just one stop on a list of a few cities we are visiting

So I take it you haven't been to the new one at Centennial Park.

Yeah, mid 20s, other than a Braves' game I don't see much of an attraction for ATL. Maybe some nice bars but I've got to imagine you can find similar in any city.

Atlanta is a great town for young professionals. Find a hotel in either Midtown or Buckhead within walking distance to MARTA. For nightlife, Buckhead is essentially college bars for post grads. Midtown has more upscale bars as well as clubs if you're into that. Virginia Highlands is great too.

I'd recommend Sweetwater on Friday evening or Saturday afternoon, but be sure to check the times they're open and get there early.

For sure. Huge international city w/ explosive growth, nothing to do. Should go to Lafayette instead.
