Driving down Corporate Blvd a few weeks ago when a Dodge Charger suddenly stops in the middle of the road in front of me. Driver's side door opens, the driver throws a Taco Bell bag with two cups on the ground, and then drives off.

It took me several minutes to process the absolute stupidity and lack of respect that person displayed.

People who litter are probably the same ones who own pit bulls.

would think with our number of unemployed people living off the government we would have an available workforce to tidy up our public areas.

I think japan does this with their unemployed.

They're not trashy like the average American though

My family and I go on walks on roads around our neighborhood. Every once in a while we bring our trash picker upper and bags. I can fill up 2 kitchen sized trash bags pretty easily. Lots of trash you don't even see from your car.

Coming soon to a community near you.

This is the result of generations of subsidizing nonproductive adults to have children.
Productive folks using birth control or abortion to kill productive offspring.
It will eventually destroy our civilization.

Louisiana is the only state I’ve been to where the preferred method of mattress disposal is dumping it on the side of the interstate.

This. When I was working a project in Lafayette you could pretty much furnish a whole house between Hammond and the basin bridge.

I think you figured the problem out. We need more people with DWIs. We could double the trash crew immediately.

If you see someone dumping trash or throwing stuff out of their car call Litter Bug.

888-LIT-R-BUG (888-548-7284).

Give them the car description, license number, parish and street you are on.
Let them start getting fines and they'll think twice.

To the OP, I don’t believe the study that most of the trash is blowing out of dumpsters or trash trucks. Just look at busy intersections and you will see all the fast food cups and soft drink/beer bottles and cans.
The solution is to constantly educate our youth about littering.

We moved out of the state when my son was 3 months old (now 8) but travel back often to visit family. He really enjoys hanging out with his cousins and is often sad to leave when we come home. I asked him if we rather we move back to Louisiana and his response was "It'd be cool to be by my cousins, but Louisiana is just so dirty".

Maybe they weren’t volunteers picking up trash, but criminals picking up brass! Did you check the police reports the previous day?

I don’t know if it’s laziness or if they are just uncouth degenerates.

It's people just not caring about anything or anyone.

When you are handed things and never have to work for it, you don't appreciate it.

Nothing like seeing a beat up Nissan Altima dumping a bag full of McDonald’s trash on the side of the road.

Piece of shite people know they’ll be no repercussions.

It's the biggest contributor to our state's poor air and water quality too. A lot of liberals assume it's because of the state's energy and chemical industries but leaks and dumpings are actually pretty rare. I had a friend who work for the DEQ and he said that 90% of those issues come from people who litter and that ends up in municipal water and drainage systems.

littering is 100% the worst behavior a human being can show. If you cannot wait 5 minutes to find a trash can to throw the junk in your car away, you should be publicly humiliated

The main issue is dudes constantly putting cups, empty bottles, etc into their truck bed. They don’t seem to ever notice that the trash isn’t there anymore next time they look.

It is very sad that a lot of beautiful areas in our country are trashed by trashy people.
