Public schools are usable
Good food and ourdoors
Close to NOLA for big city stuff
Housing is affordable
Crime is low provided you lock your car doors. I can't remember the last time someone here was murdered that wasn't domestic violence

I tend to agree.....but watch out when the big one comes again, especially now since new Orleans has that big wall now, water gonna slam right into tha parish.

Those areas seem alright. I’d much rather raise kids in Ruston than basically anywhere in south LA.

RSN is booming for such a small town..that mayor is doing great work. Only places worth of damn in SoLa are North Shore & maybe Laffy suburbs.

Its ridiculous how much people from Zachary are obsessed with Zachary.

Zachary is incredibly overrated. It's another 5-10 years away from becoming another Baker.

I agree about the SoLa thing and I do think Ruston is a nice town but could you give me some examples of how it’s booming? Just curious because I have only been there once and it was a few years back. It was pretty nice to me back then I’d live there.

Thanks.

As strange as it may sound I find that the value of a neighborhood for raising a family is directly proportional to the quality of the trick-or-treating.

As a 40 year old that was born in Ruston and spent damn near 25 years of my life in NELA, I could not agree more, I’ve been here 8 years now after living in BR for 4 years. The Northshore is the only place in LA I’d raise my family these days.
