Tin Roof's brewing staff was just totally overhauled, so expect some improvements. The new batch of Gameday is definitely a step in the right direction.

Saw the Bayou Bengal Lager at Albertson's yesterday.

Put down the pipe and back away from the table. While tin roof is an average brewery, Louisiana has a ton of great ones.

Parish
Great Raft
Gnarly Barley
Urban South
Nola
Chafunkta
Bayou Teche
Old Rail

To name a few.....

Tried this tonight. It's not good. Full mouth feel for a lager yet flat flavor notes. Big letdown for me. I'm pretty sure they had a tasting group that voted on this. Not sure what they were thinking.

I want Tin Roof to be good, but I just don't like most of their beers. The only one I really liked was Turnrow. The porter and watermelon wheat were ok. The rest all taste skunky to me.

Havent tried the tin roof lsu beer. Haven't had a great tin roof beer honestly and would expect this to be an average, somewhat flavorless lager to appeal to the masses. Was just responding to the bama poster who said louisiana didn't have any good breweries which couldn't be farther from the truth.

You've tried Parish? Great Raft? Red River?

I forgot about Parrish. They are good. I've never tried the others.

And I probably generalized too much. Nola has bad water for brewing. I think Nola brewing filters their own water, which makes it have less of the aftertaste. Abita flat out sucks. Poor flavor and bet strong aftertaste.

Parish makes a double IPA that I like. That's how you know they're good. Ghost in the Machine is legit.

I also really like Canebrake and Rêve Stout but they're pretty expensive.

I used to not like Bayou Teche Brewery but I'm starting to like them. Their brewery is a cool place to hang out and I like the Ragin Cajun Ale and a lot of their small batch stuff.

I'd rather have a bud light. Tin Roof makes some shitty arse beer.

Anyone know when this beer is gonna be on shelves?

I typically drink craft beer but I think I'll just get the purple and gold bud lights for tailgating.

I really wish that Tin Roof hadn't gotten the contract for the LSU Beer.

I came to the conclusion a while back that Tin Roof is nothing more than an investment pet project that hoped to eventually get a contract with LSU. This was their end game, and it is unfortunate that they just aren't putting out great products.

Don't get me wrong, they aren't making terrible beer. There are just so many other options in a saturated craft brew market. Even if you want to buy local, there are much better breweries in LA.

Last I checked, they were brewed by Lazy Magnolia in Mississippi.

Holy cow man. Relax. They just fired their brewmaster and head brewer and are pretty committed to turning it around.

Those are what I give to people that wander into the tailgate, want a free beer, and I don't want to give them something good.
