no doubt the Slingshot is badder than the Mini -- and can be more fun.
Depends on your target audience. If its just to make you happy - youre the only one who can answer that question. If you want to be a sensitive, touchy feely, guy, the Mini might work, or maybe a prius.

Look at some older convertibles -- MGBs, Fiats, etc that can be had for the dollar if you just want weekend fun. Heck I even owned a 1976 Buick Lemans convertible one time - great car to fit a bunch of folks in! My latest is a Boxster -- convertibles are great fun. Just be true to what you want at the time

I've heard good things. They're suppose to be real fun to drive, but rough. Great weekend car, IMHO.

I like the slingshot too, but my fear is road debris. I'm not even sure it's a rational fear, but I assume I'd completely forget that the rear tire is centered while attempting to straddle something laying in the middle of the road before blowing out the rear tire.

I think you should!

I love seeing them on the road.

It's on my list of great cars to look at, but not to own.

Bugs, Camaros, Vettes, Porches, F250's, are among those...

Looks fun to drive for sure. Some posters mentioning low resale value so that would be an issue.

Why are guys so wrapped up in the idea of "man card?" Get what you want and forget what random guys think. If you have to ask whether you will have to turn in a "man card" (if you believe in such a thing) then you just turned it in anyway.

I just got a Cooper hardtop, two door. I love it, it's a fun little car.

I would second this suggestion. Something like this or a Midget, Triumph, etc. I've had two Midgets before, very fun weekend cars.

My brother let me borrow his a couple weekends ago. Took my 8yo for a spin on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Very quick acceleration, takes a curve like nobody's business. Very fun to drive.

Do it.

I'd get an actual BMW instead of that (convertible 135i, 235i...whatever you can afford). Manual transmission obviously. I'd also remove the ugly rear seat headrests.

They're a lot roomier than you would think and definitely fun to drive. But they're girlie, can't pretend otherwise.
