Had a sudden case of sciatica shooting down and cramping my left leg after a night of PS4 Mortal Kombat while sitting on a hard office chair. Freaked me out as I had no idea what was wrong. MRI showed L3-L4 are screwed up. Went to PT and lucked out with a very knowledgeable older man who told me about the (Robin) McKenzie method or extension stretch exercise, similar to a Yoga pose. You can find his books on Amazon which cover the back, neck, and hips.
There's a video of it further down on this link. It's amazing how effective it is. You can't over-arch your back according to the PT/book. I was initially told to do it every 2 hours per day. Over the last couple years, when I've skipped and muscle cramping/sciatica creep back, it can be reversed if you get back into the exercise. The PT also emphasized you have to maintain good posture or it'll interfere with the exercise progress. It's a very good means to avoid surgery for some back injuries. Best of luck!

I had a physical job and my back was hurting a good deal as well as my right hip and leg. When I retired I took it easy for a couple of weeks and it eased up until I push mowed the lawn. My right hip lit up the next day and I was at square one again.
I went to the hip doctor and my hip was bone on bone and I wound up with a hip replacement. I figured that was what was causing my back problems. But during my recovery and walking my left hip started wearing me out with pain.
Come to find out I had a herniated disc in my back pressing on the sciatic nerve going down that side. I’ve always said I’d never let anyone cut on my spine, but I reached the point to where I had no choice. I slept in a chair, not recliner, just so I could get up to pee in the night or get up at all.
I had surgery to repair it and the pain is gone now and after several months of not sleeping in a bed it was great to lay down and sleep.
I’m sorry for your pain and hope you find the solution. Look for second and third opinions if necessary. The only way to understand this is to live it.
I had heard about regenerative therapy but I was past that.

Deadlifts relieved back pain.
Deadlifts and rigorous cupping/scraping massage sessions

I have an issue with T4 and T5 in my back. Degenerative issues.
Acupuncture helped. It was so bad and nothing else was working. All they would do is offer more pain pills.
It took three treatments and my back and neck were pain free. It lasted about six or so months until I had to go back again.
That's all I got. I hope you get some help.

Stretching helps. Man, this board has gotten so geriatric.

The target ads for old people shite is just devastating, but I don’t think younger people use message boards except for Reddit.

90% of the patients I’ve seen come through for back surgery are 300 plus pounds. People don’t eat right, exercise, or use proper mechanics when doing physical labor. There are outliers, but pretty much any type of surgery I’m a part of is on an obese patient.

If you don't have any structural issues, work on your core. Your core is what supports the load on your back.
Now, as someone who has had back surgery, if you have a structural problem, get the surgery. Do not frick around with pain management.

Best things for back pain:
(1) move everyday (even if just walking)
(2) strengthen your core and hip flexors
(3) lose weight/clean up the diet
(4) regular mobility work (hips/back/shoulders)
(5) drink more water
(6) get more sleep

Not familiar with Regenerative Therapy. Had a herniated disc and thought I was on my way to surgery.
A football coach (KHS) suggested I visit Dr. Doug Goehry in Katy off FM1463. Guy's a whiz kid. Just some simple stretches that were tailored for my problem.
I realize not all back issues are the same so not intended to imply this would work for you. It's a conservative approach so thought I'd mention.
Pray you get some relief.

Wife had to have two 360 Lombard fusions…was addicted to pain pills…after second surgery she started taking it easy and watched the chair she used at work, walked consistently and now she is pain free, no longer on pills etc…

You sound similar to my dad. He’s been addicted to opioids about 7 years at this point.
Yes, after four months I was 100% hooked and really noticed it when I first got up in the morning after being without a pill for around 10 hrs and of coarse instantly better after taking my morning pill.
Not lying I was hooked.
So I bought a pill cutter. Best investment EVER. I would take tiny slices off of each pill like every other day until the pills were tiny slivers.
Took about three weeks to wean myself off doing the pill cutting method but doing it very slowly it was pretty painless.

Did you inform your pain management specialist that you were going to wean yourself off of your fibromyalgia treatment?

I’ve had lower back surgery. My pain went on for years until I lost control of my bladder one morning. Had already been treating it conservatively, but surgery was my only option as the disc had harden & some fallen down on nerves, which doesn’t show up on an MRI. My Dr said it was like picking sand out and he showed me some samples, & it looked like sand.
Anyway, I’d suggest conservative treatment, yoga, pt, stretching, anything the dr recommends. Change of mattress. Maybe an injection will help. If it’s not too serious, you can usually straighten it out yourself.
NO NARCOTICS!!!!! Leave that shite alone
Good luck

You probably just need to spend money on better shoes.

This was for back surgery and yes my primary doctor helped me with the weanling process. Going cold turkey is a really bad idea for many reasons.
