If one of us has an ignorant stance, it would probably be the one guy tooting their own horn about how they beat the stereotype.......

FWIW, I speak from experience, have spent most of my life at the top of the corporate ladder.

No visible tattoos is a pretty common policy for larger companies.

Still waiting for the CEO levels to pop up with their full sleeve of tats, then we may have something to actually talk about.....

Hey, do as you like, that's what is awesome about this country.

My stance remains the same, getting visible tattoos, especially lots of them - will absolutely limit your opportunities.

Agree/disagree - not important to me.

For what it's worth my CEO and CNO both have full sleeves. The CNO played ball at Ole Miss. Not saying that would work everywhere....just stating that geography makes a difference. I wore under armor beneath my scrubs in alabama. I never did that in California. It has not impacted my career here in the least.

Girl I know got some Chinese symbols and a bible verse. She doesn't read Chinese. I asked why she didn't get the bible verse in Greek, since it might look cool and was the original language, and she told me that'd be dumb Bc she can't read Greek.

Which is another way of saying it DOES limit your opportunities.

It doesn't. good bad or indifferent...It CAN make a difference which DOES influence your earning potential.

Yes, in certain areas it makes a differences. My point is simply that those limitations exist mainly in the south.
My earning potential is not limited by my tattoos.

Correct. It is almost expected for baristas, tattoo artists and addiction counselors to have significant "ink" as the kids say.

Sounds like your mad that you don't have any.

Also I never said I was an addictions counselor.

You couldn't be more wrong.

Talks about tooting your own horn, makes a statement like "spent most of life at the top of the corporate ladder".

It hasn't limited me in any way, shape or form.

No visible tattoos are only a policy in really small, or old businesses. Any newer, or bigger cmpanies don't give a crap about tattoos.

It's obviously important enough to you for your to respond. And be wrong.
