New job will be more flexible and agreeable to going back and taking classes with daytime schedules than the past few years.

I have 110 hours and was a Poli Sci Major. I was thinking of taking ISDS, ECON, Business etc. But I am wondering if I should graduate with a General Studies (quickest path) degree or aim to something that's more focused.

What do you guys recommend locally that's a great field for a guy who wants to stick around? I have Project Management, Disaster/Emergency Preparedness, Grants Management and QC/QA in my background.

I am totally open to suggestions and ideas, other than "OT Operator" or "Oil Process Tech at BRCC" as I am laready considering that angle as well.

Do your worst, OT...

At 35, I don't know why you would pursue a General Studies degree.

Supply Chain management at Southeastern.

Logistics/procurement. Only a few schools in the region offer it and the job market is wonderful for grads. Extremely interesting curriculum and the industry really is specialized and the sky is the limit.

Eta: I work in logistics for a heavy haul trucking/ crane and rigging company and that's just a start.

Eta: with all of these trucks going to this new Sasol job in Lake Charles, I'm right smack in the middle of a huge project that guarantees work for the next 8 years. Options are endless whether it be something like I do or port work with large barges coming from overseas.

College is useless if you're going to get a General Studies degree. Get an education in something that actually prepares you for work (Accounting, Construction Management, Engineering.)

I went to grad school at age 34. College seemed much easier as a seasoned adult. You want to be there and know how to manage your time. Don't regret going back at all...

i just finished and i'm 33...

project mgmt/supply chain mgmt/business mgmt...those are likely your best programs to look at

no GS...that is for kids that are wasting their parents $ going to community college...get something you can use...and that you already know a little about...

stay away from degree mills like kaplan, grantham, phoenix...my .02...good luck

I think maybe 1 or 2 in the state now. Texas A&M has a really good program but the BIG players are Michigan State and Bowling Green I believe.

I'm 35 years old and I've got plenty of experience. I want a tool in my toolkit that is applicable to as diverse a field of potential future employment as possible. Thanks for your input though.
