Stay up last 10:30. I type this after I dropped my phone on my face to wake myself up after falling asleep in the middle of reading this thread. That is why all late night phone or tablet interneting in bed should be done laying on your side not your back.

Play 18 holes
Get down in a 3 point DT stance
Run on a treadmill for 1+ hr
Work in the hay field

Hell if I sleep wrong when I wake up I feel like I've been run over by an 18 wheeler.

Bad knees, bad shoulder, nerve damage in my right hand, High blood pressure, high cholesterol, and mitrol valve prolapse will do that to a person.

Ping pong is one of those things you get better at with age.

I'm just wondering at what age can you not do those things anymore? I'm 35 and can still do some of these:

Touch the rim(can still grab the rim)
See
Hear(but my wife thinks that going)
Run
Jump out of the bed of my truck on 37's
Do pull-ups(although my shoulders are shot)
Guard somebody in basketball( I pick the slowest guy)
Button my pants( I just got bigger pants easy fix)
Breakdance( white never could)
Sleep with snoring( has become a problem)
Drink milk( will shite my fricking pants within 15 minutes)
Control hair growing from nose and ears( major problem)
Have sex without getting winded( pretty hard to get winded in 60 seconds)
Stay awake past 9:30( don't think I have ever gone to bed earlier)

I'm 49 now. I play indoor soccer with former ACC players in their late 20's to early 30's every week, been doing this about fifteen years now. Mostly guys who played in the ACC and gave it up for upper division rec league. Unfortunately they aren't getting older like me.

What I can't do any more is play any kind of offense against them. I can still defend competently even at that level though, and playing indoor means there's less space for them to outrun me.

Occasionally we play with a female professional with the Washington Spirit D-league team, they're generally better than the guys who played college and shut it down.

At 49 I'm just happy to be able to say I can play at that level without being totally blown off the field.

I've got a buddy of mine who has been trying to get me into BRAAS the last couple of years and he's 45 and is a hell of an athlete.

All I can say is that although I'm very lucky to score myself I can still play. Most of the guys on my team played on Virginia Tech - ten years ago. And most of the women played with solid programs too. Three of my teammates have NCAA title rings.

Not professional but everyone still practices and works with a coach. It's that strange area between a real professional career and people who really love to play but make their living elsewhere.

And I love these guys. What's really amazing is that I personally never stepped onto a pitch until I was in my late 20's on a dare. But once I did I was hooked.

My brother in law is 45 and up until his late 30's early 40's was playing baseball with a lot of old pros down in Florida. He played a few games against Barry Larkin and said the guy was still unbelievable.

Can still touch the rim but have to stretch & warm up before.

I can't rebound any more, the reflexes are slower.

I won't get on a roof for love or money, regardless of the pitch.

I am more careful of my back in general and won't jump out of the bed of a pickup truck.

I'm 49 and still pretty active as a competitive bike racer. I can still go to the front of the pack and lay down a strong 28mph pull for a long stretch, but my sprint has definitely faded. I used to be able to top out at around 38mph over 200 meters. Now, I'm consistently topping out at 34mph. The fast twitch muscles just don't age well.

Also, I used to be near sighted, could read a printed page that was touching my nose but couldn't see far away. LASIK fixed the far seeing problem and I had a hawks eyesight both near and far for about 16 years. I've still got the far distance but seeing things up close is a thing of the past. I've got cheater glasses stashed in every room of the house now.

Last weekend I was getting the Christmas decorations out of the attic and I noticed my balance isn't what it once was either.

I hit 50 in March, hello downhill run goddammit.

I coach a HS soccer team. I jump into some drills from time to time and I often demonstrate things. From time I will play small sided games. It's amusing what skills you lose and how it comes and goes. One day I turned to chase a ball and just fell down. Lost my balance and tumbled. The kids were worried I hurt myself it was that bad.
I also doubt I can still dunk a BB.
4 years ago I broke my leg in 3 places ice skating. Hadn't skated in 12 years but I had done it enough that I shouldn't of killed myself.

40 now in pretty good shape:
- probably can't run a 6 mile anymore, it hurts even thinking about it
- haven't tried in a while but sure I can't dunk anymore, not as much worried about the jump as the landing
- eat a decent sized meal or anything fried without having to take a dump almost immediately after
- Converse/flirt with college aged girls when out somewhere, traveling by myself, going to a game, or tailgating

Two years ago, I took my 10 year old son and his friend to Cumberland Caverns for an overnight stay in the cave. I did that as a child and had great memories of doing the "wild tour."

I had them all hyped up about it. Before we could proceed we had to go through the test box to make sure each person could get through the tightest crawls. It was about 14" tall but only about 20 feet long. I made it through like a champ. Shimmied through like a pro....showing off to the young uns.

Got about halfway through that 2 1/2 hour tour and literally thought I was going to die. Tried not to display my concern to the boys but I was struggling. Some of those crawls were 60+ length and only 14-18" high. I could not get leverage with my right leg so I was basically pulling myself through with my arms and pecs. Almost like I was pulling a paralyzed lower half through long tunnel crawls. shite was miserable and my heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest. I was spent like I had never been in my life. I was actually silently praying for God to deliver me from this hell and to not have my son see me die sandwiched between rocks.

This is my nightmare. I am a bit claustrophobic so reading this, my hands and feet began to sweat.
