Do government executive assistants normally earn $150K+? $23 less per year than their executives?

They probably earn it in comparison to what their boss does, but it seems abnormal.

I know half a dozen project managers in the private sector making 75k+ with just 4 or 5 direct reports.

I do environmental work for a state government and I could get a nice bump moving to the private sector.. 20-25%. I don't want to deal with overnight travel though.

Librarians aren't just people checking out books. Libraries aren't going anywhere. Even if they become digitized you still need archiving and curating.

For comparison, the head of NYC libraries makes close to a million a year.

Among the pool of job applicants for New Orleans Police Department's recruitment director was a former federal prosecutor who had been Director of Human Resources at both his undergraduate and law school alma maters: Dillard University in New Orleans and Southern University in Baton Rouge.

Another candidate, a former sheriff's deputy, now manages human resources for NASA, Syncom Space Services and other contractors at Stennis Space Center on Mississippi's Gulf Coast.

Instead they hired this idiot:

NOPD officials instead chose to hire Keia Stepter as recruitment director, tasking her with fulfilling one of the department's biggest priorities: hiring officers to fill its depleted ranks.

But less than a week after she started, Stepter was fired June 9 when a review by New Orleans Civil Service staff found she incorrectly answered application questions about the amount of post-degree professional experience she had, emails between Stepter and Civil Service staff show.

at that salary she'll have to work till the age of about 130 to pay off all of those student loans

She has a STEM PhD, which means she likely got most of her tuition paid for and received a stipend while in school.

The pathologists making around $200000 is very reasonable

I was thinking that if you took all the full time pathologist throughout the USA except NOLA, added all their salaries then divided by body count, you'd find that the NOLA pathologist are grossly under paid.

Elder and Kanter are both ED physicians, although those figures are almost assuredly only a portion of their annual incomes.

How often do you think this guy gets a "random inspection" when he goes to the airport for work?

Probably about 30-40% of the time. I know someone who is responsible for over $50 million in revenues as a federal contractor. He has a top secret clearance and in my own experience is a very stand up guy.

But because he was born in Tehran and has a name to match, he arrives at the airport 3-4 hours before departure so he can make the flight in case he gets pulled from the line.
