Been caught on river road by the vet school where it drops from 55 to 45 to 35. No way to get around him. He got the odd is in a row. Only thing I found shady was he was hiding his car behind some trees father away from the road. I was wrong and deserved the ticket, but I was allowing down, just not fast enough. I can't stand how they find spots they know will catch people of guard and set the trap.

As far as running from them, if they catch you, tickets going to hit you with everything they can. This guy was nice and overlooked my inspection sticker and stuff. Just pulled over and was pole to the guy.

they did this to me on 61 close to the 110 on ramp

stopped the first time,

did it to me 2 weeks later at the same place...kept going...they didn't come after me. They're too lazy and since they're just standing there (versus behind you with sirens and lights) they can't get you for anything other than the speeding ticket, they just stayed there and waited for the next chump

only time I saw this on an interstate was in Florida.

Was leaving Disney world. Radar detector went nuts.
Going up to a small hill in the road. Lone cop at the top radaring. Over the hill another cop in the road pointing to cars, further down multiple cop cars ready to catch those who didn't pull over.

Here, in NOLA it's much more common to see Stat Police at interstate entrances checking for braketags.
Very rare to see a cop radaring on my drive, occasionally one on 610.

Keep going full speed and see if he jumps out of the way

I know since pedestrians aren't allowed on the Interstate there is little they can do if you do hit someone on the intersate.

ie, if you kill a broke down motorists, you won't likely be charged.

But then again you are supposed to moe over for emergency vehicles (actually a law everywhere but La it seems)

hmm.

It should be illegal because it creates a hazardous situation for the motorists in the vicinity. Cop jumps out into the middle of a travel lane with cars going 60-70mph. This can startle drivers and cause them to overreact, perhaps swerving into the next lane without looking or suddenly slamming on their brakes.

If you're going to radar on the interstate, quit being a lazy frick and pursue the offenders.

The laws are different state by state but the general rule is that an officer cannot initiate a traffic stop if he is endangering himself and/or the other drivers on the road or impeding the normal flow of traffic.

I'd say you could easily get one of those dropped if you fought it.

i get speeding tickets all the time but you won't hear me crying about it cause I know it's illegal.

eta: st. charles parish will charge you $80 court cost and keep off your record if you get it to the right people

I didn't get a ticket.

It wasn't St. Charles though, was St. John

There is a cop that stands in the turning lane where I have to pick up my son on some days. I have come to a complete stop right besides him and asked him if he could please move so I could turn. Writes tickets in the turning lane with his butt hanging into traffic. Saw him almost get hit 2x as nobody can tell he pulled someone over because he hides his car in a parking lot. Just looks like someone turning. Dude is going to get killed one day.

And I'm sure if he causes the wreck and gets hurt, they'll probably try to convict you of of attempted murder of a police officer.

Dont look at him and dont stop especially if he is pointing out multiple cars. He is going to give them a ticket an not worry about u.

A cop flagged me down and I pulled over. He pulled over multiple cars and never even came to my window. I just drove off. I don't think he meant to flag me down.

Stopping every car (a roadblock) and a traffic stop are not the same thing.

Guy stands in the middle of the road looking for expired stickers..Points you to a parking lot where his buddy is going down the line writing tickets..Buddy up the road in his car to pull you over if you do not voluntarily...Is this a hazard to other motorists and himself

It's a big money grab. If they were not allowed to keep the fines for themselves, they would have no incentive to pull these stunts.

They would be out doing real police work instead. It's hard to support a police department that does this sort of thing.

St John parish is one of the worst offenders. Here is a picture of one their deputies hiding at the base of a bridge.
