Is the part of the thread where all of us without kids will be told we are gonna be miserable and lonely when we get old cause we won’t have kids to take care of us then?

So? Just get a better job. Hell get 2 or 3 of em.

They did. Took a few years to train for the better job for mom, stepdad worked two jobs while she did that. I wasn’t some lazy frick so I helped out while it was needed. They are both dead, I’d gladly work two jobs now if they could only be here still and it was needed.

If you have two able bodied and able minded adults not bringing in enough income to feed their family I’m gonna assume they are lazy as frick.

Which is why people are opting out of having children

Opting is the key word, meaning they have a choice..which many in the thread are acting like they don’t . If they wanted kids they’d figure it out.

Why didn’t your mom get a 2nd job? Or a third for your dad?

Why didn’t your dad get two better jobs than the two insufficient ones he had?

National average income is under $64k. Doubling that is less than $128k. You can feed your family on that obviously, but you aren't living "nice" on that. There's also plenty of nonlazy people earning less than that as well.

Good, purge them from the gene pool.

Unfortunately, fewer or no kids is correlated with intelligence and education level.

Abortion bans are exasperating the issue as only rich (read: likely more intelligent) women can afford to travel out of state. So in 20 to 30 years we’re gonna have a lot more dumb people around.

This is the one area we need to work on massively.

Because I was willing to and volunteered to get one. As did my brother. We did that so mom, who hadn’t been in school since HS and was a lifelong factory worker could study to be a nurse. Stepdad had no education and was also a factory worker. He took a factory job at half his previous pay and painted houses on his days off. I didn’t feel like laying around the house while they struggled to make ends meet during that time of “transition”. It’s not like they forced me to do it. And we probably would’ve eaten if I hadn’t bought groceries one week a month, but I’m sure it helped them.

No one was ever guaranteed to "live nice".

You might drive 2 old arse cars and live in a 1100 square foot house but you can make it no doubt.

The context of the discussion is that this poster HAD to work or his family didn’t eat for a week.

Not, oh we didn’t grow up with much so I got a job early in hs to be able to buy my own car or whatever. He needed a job in hs to provide himself and his family with basic needs like food.

If two able bodied and able minded adults can’t generate enough income to simply feed their family (as in being able to purchase food) then it’s a safe assumption they are lazy as frick.
