All Schedule 2-5 scripts are good for 6 months from the date written in Louisiana.

All non-schedule prescriptions expire one year from the date written.

Mildest solution is docusate, a stool softener. If over several days, Miralax usually works well. Philips milk of mag works well overnight, and if gets bad enough, a bottle if mag citrate will open you up like Niagara Falls.
