Everybody knows Floyd Boudreaux's Louisiana pits ruined the breed.

Does it matter why? 1 every 11 days. Who cares why?

almost every story has "he has never been aggressive or bit anyone before". I think most deaths are caused by family pets and not by the ones involved in dog fighting. Those dogs are kept penned up.

I agree with this for the most part. There are still "good dogs" that snap when they feel their owner may be threatened.

This is the only board I read so I can't really comment.

Nope, only idiots care about the why.

A pit bull is a specific breed, yet people have turned it into this umbrella for breeds that are only part pit bull.

Let's keep that in mind as this thread goes on.

Arguing what to call these dogs reminds me of what to call today's Democrat. Are they Socialists? Communists? Marxists? Everyone knows what we are talking about when we say Pitbull. Discussing exact name is a deflection tactic. I guess we could all make it simple and say Pitbull Looking Face Ripping Off Dogs.

Sounds familiar though right? He din du nuffin! *proceeds to click on picture that shows thug with neck tattoos and other thug like appearances. It's a common response from owners/friends/families who are trying to protect their dog but you as a civillian can spot a "din du nuffin"/dangerous dog from miles away it isn't specific to a certain breed though.

Provided there are true instances where a dog snaps out of the blue with no previous history of doing so but that is any dog.

There are shitloads of them in Louisiana. That's where I adopted mine. But in Denver, where I work, they're illegal. So I've had to live in the outskirts/suburbs. It's why I'm in Boulder, Co right now.

We adopt all of our dogs. Last one just happened to be a lab/pit mix that one of our team guys couldn't take with him on orders. Best dog I've ever had.

No, my dog's job is to alert me. I'll handle the rest. Our toy poodle is better at that.

I love dogs, and make no distinction when one needs a home. We don't have kids, and don't let our dogs run the neighborhood. So I guess I'd wonder why not a Pit.

That was a close one. If you had said that their thighs go up into their backs, that would've been considered racist.

and my point is when a pit bull does this it causes more damage/deaths than any other breed. I just can't see how anyone can own one with small children around. I see little kids that will pull dogs tails, ears, bite them on the snout, etc...if a lab nips in retaliation it may cause stitches a pit can kill. There is no disputing that.

Last week an old lady fell down and the family pit (daughters dog) killed her.

Anyone that has a political affiliation, defends pit bulls, and claims there is no God is the definition of a forward thinking thinker.

you don't have to personally fear the dog to fear them. I fear what they can do to a child.

Watch Judge Judy. There seems to be a pit bull case every week.

Pit bulls should be completely outlawed by 2030, and it should be against the law to breed them in the meantime. Just let the breed die out.

I don't know about him but I'm not ashamed to say I'm scared of them! Have you ever been bitten by a pit bull in rage?? I have. I hog hunt in Texas with some guys once a year and they use pits as catch dogs. We had a big hog bayed and turned 2 pits loose to hold him. Well we get the hog down and start breaking the dogs loose and in all the growling, squealing, flipping, and flopping one of the pits latch on to my forearm and gave it a shake before realizing I wasn't the hog and let go.

Luckily it was winter time and I had a light jacket on and a heavy carhartt jacket on over it so the teeth never broke my skin. You can't imagine how much pressure was on my arm as he bit down and shook. You would have to feel it to understand how hard these things bite.
