We went to Disney with the kids last year. I was shocked by the number of overweight people riding scooters. I didn’t realize that would be a thing. It was kind of embarrassing to see.
Overall, the experience just felt like an incredibly inconvenient amusement park. There were no characters walking around because of COVID, so it didn’t feel like the way I remembered Disney as a child.
We went to Universal at the end of the trip. It felt like Disney’s trashier cousin in terms of some of the rides, but it was WAY more fun. We stayed at a hotel on site, were able to walk to the parks (vs. a 15 minute bus ride while on site at Disney), and our tickets included fast passes for every ride since we were staying on site. Night and day in terms of aggravation & fun.

I think it's a much better value at $100 on eBay than $25 with a five or six hour wait. You're paying $130 to spend 9 hours in the park.
If you spent half that time waiting on line. You wasted a lot of money.
The popcorn buckets are dumb anyway. It's not like the ears or the pins your kids may display proudly. The buckets like the hats and plushes go right into a closet.

I used to at that. This anniversary we went to Epcot. We got a nice place at the Beach Club. Though for $600 a night I think the hotel could have been nicer. You could walk to the back entrance of the parks. No kids so we just ate snacks and drank. The food and wine festival is really nice. And we maybe rode 4 rides in two days. With a few of those being boring rides like The Land the kids won't do.
I had a great time and it was one of our best no kids vacations. Though we for sure could have done an all inclusive for less.

Considering the cost of the passes,
That is a sunk cost. No one bought the passes just for that day. That money was spent whether or not they went that day.

the time spent in line,
I would not spend 6 hours in line... but I've seen people spend many hours in line on a weekend for all sorts of stuff.

he cost of the popcorn bucket
$25

the fees associated.
I'm sure shipping cost is being passed along. 12.35 percent is the ebay fee for "collectibles" which this might be

Assuming they can only buy one at a time... if they can buy multiple then the math starts to check out...)
Limit 2 per person... but I'd imagine a lot of people standing in line are maybe husband and wife so that's four.
So... If you buy two and they sell for $200 each:
Proceeds - $400
Cost of Goods - $50
Ebay Fee - $49.49
Profit - $300.60
So $50/hr to stand in line for 6 hours.

To be fair, adults that go to Disney alone aren’t the losers. Adults standing in line for 6 hours for a popcorn bucket are the losers. Like I’ve said, we come often with the kids. I’ve seen lines for some dumb stuff here but this one takes the cake.
I’m off to go battle the childless on day 3. See y’all on the flip side.

It’s been that way for a while now. A large portion of America is morbidly obese. That’s why they are so afraid of Covid. They are a walking/scooting bunch of comorbeiditoes.

Ive never been. I normally dont care what anyone does with their free time. We all enjoy different things. But i know this girl who has been obsessed with disney since littler. Her fam would go 5 or 6 times a year. This girl graduates hs, goes and works at disney as intern while she was in college. She graduates, takes real estate job in orlando. And no joke, not exaggerating... she is at disney EVERY SINGLE DAY, so far for last 2 yrs. Posts story updates every frickn day at parades, watchn fireworks, with characters, etc. I just dont see how that dont get old for someone in mid 20s

About 3 years ago there was a fruitboi couple in front of us at the Dumbo ride handing all over each other.
Naturally my little girl doesn't understand why two "men" would act like that.
fricking weirdos

Wife and I went on our honeymoon. It was a lot of fun. Acting like big kids the whole time. We stayed at the Grand Floridian which was quite nice. Victoria And Alberts was awesome. We got pretty drunk in Epcot.
We may go back for a short trip this fall for our 15th anniversary. Again though, we don’t go every year. Having been with a gaggle of kids now, it’s a lot more low key and relaxed without them.

I like Disney, specifically the World Showcase at Epcot and the Downtown Disney area. I haven't gone without my kids, but I could see doing that with the wife.
Wouldn't stand in a 45 minute line for a freaking bucket though.
There are definitely people who are over the top regarding this stuff.
BTW, I'm 60 so I suspect rather than DIsney, the wife and I would go tot he Keys.
